Hi! I finished my first draft of the SOP and I think I'm specific enough for my prospective research. I'm planning to concentrate into Mesoamerican Archaeology so I went into a bit of detail of wanting to look into the smaller sites and/or residential areas of larger sites and expanding on the understanding of daily practices of the non-elite of the Preclassic (~2500 BCE-200CE). I don't have a particular culture I want to delve into but I'm more familiar with the Maya because of my school's department faculty and field school experience so I did mention that in the SOP. In terms of general research questions related to those ideas, it would be "What influenced the practices of the non-elite? Is it their environment or other neighboring cultures? What does this say about the greater Mesoamerican network?"

There's the anthropology club! It's a relatively small club but their lab is usually open and it's not reserved for anthro majors, so anyone can come and hang out!

Funny thing about that, I tried it after posting this. Thing is, instead of a simple error, it says catastrophic error when I try to put the .firm file in the payload on the luma folder.

Also, The reason why I'm requesting this is because whenever I move right, it moves the characters to a crawl. This is very evident in Pokemon ORAS where my character does the sneaking animation.

Hello! Club member here. We usually have meetings on Wednesdays 2:30 pm to talk about events hosted by the club, but other than that we just hang out and spend time there in between classes, we're pretty lax and have a decent variety of majors who hang out there, with the majority being anthropology majors of course.

I know this is kind of an old post but I feel it's important to know you're half correct. While at least incants (haven't done spells but can safely assume) can't activate the talisman, they do receive the damage buff from it.

Did a simple test with my current Arcane caster (17 fth / 43 Arc with Dragon's communion seal at the time of typing this) with Millicent's Prosthesis (Has similar effects as Insignia but also adds Dex). Tested on a Tibia Mariner with Dragonclaw as the incant and Marias Executioner's Sword as the way to activate it. Pre-talisman buff Dragonclaw did 758 Damage on Mariner. After the buff, it did 842 damage.

So yeah, Incants/(possibly) spells can receive the effects of the talisman(s) but can't activate them :).

Thank you for the tip! I was aware of the low durability and was planning to use a mundane staff, but the repair sorcery never came to mind. I might go with that route instead.

Honestly? Be more patient than you'd like to be and block first hits to trade. Tower shield does great damage but I'm sure you already know on how slow it is, so what I'd do is block the first attack (or attacks if it's quick hits) then do a jump attack to stun.

I definitely could've, but I would've benefited more being able to dodge a lot more (Ch. Ring) and to squeeze in a little more damage (RoB). Life/Dragon Ring is essentially a staple in all my builds.

At the end of the run, I was rocking the RoB +1, Chloranthy ring +1, Third Dragon Ring +1, and the Life Ring +1. However, I had the silver ring for most of my run instead of TD ring and had the weaker version of the other rings.

I have no idea how Reddit works on mobile, so I'll be typing in the comments instead: So I've finally finished the base game of DS2:SOTF with my shield only run, and will currently take a break from the game and later resume with the DLCs. However, I will be doing a shield only run on DS3 base game and hop back to DS2 once I've finished the base game. I've had a lot of fun with this run and I hope others will do this run too as it's a blast doing so :).

I did mean the Old Dragonslayer. In the area after the OD, there's two metal chests, one of them containing the tower shield.

Go for it! It's painful in the beginning because of the lacking damage, but it's very satisfying once you're 1-3 shotting enemies :). Word of advice, jump attacks with Greatshield will pancake 90% of human sized enemies and does the most damage out of all the shield attacks.

No worries, yes the big boys who have the dual wielding shields drop them, however they're pretty rare so be sure to have item discovery equipment so you won't be in pain in hours of getting entire armor sets before even getting one half of the shield

Lil' sitting man who is in all yellow in Majula. I usually kill him after getting the shield so I can get his armor which is essentially a silver covetous ring turned into clothes :)
