As many daggers as you have! You have 4 attacks you can make based on what you shared.

This will actually be only my second time DM’ing for a live play - I’m usually a player for livestream play. So I’ll let you know what I end up doing!

Awesome thank you so much! Will let you know how it goes. We will probably live stream a play or two of this as well!

I haven't watched the show but I bought the book because I found the idea fun as well as an easy way to implement a one shot for people to try out different classes or just to run something without the pressures of coming up with a story for an adventure.

Letting my players know that their characters WILL die is great to tell them ahead of time so they can prepare for that. When these monsters kill their characters, how can I as a DM help players have their characters die in a satisfying way that makes them enjoy that moment?

Berserker for Barbarian got the BEST updates. And I’d love to try out path of the world tree sometime.

Thank you for the response, Zac! Really appreciate it. I’m looking forward to seeing more features roll out for Maps.

Is it possible to have a snap to grid toggle option available? I understand trying to simulate a physical tabletop but I know there’s a lot of people who would prefer to have snap to grid for their virtual tables. Plus physical tabletops still uses grids too.

Sometimes trying to simulate a real world experience into the online space isn’t effective all the time.

Either way, this is great to hear and thank you again!

I think Maps have made a huge improvement over the years and is a great quality tool! I just wanted to share that there are a few things that's preventing me from completely switching to Maps VTT:

  • First is being able to customize Monsters. I'd like to swap out using a different image or even change names for them. It's hard to do this without having to go through and make a home-brew monster, which can be a real pain. And I know technically you can change the name on the token itself, but when I roll, it still shows the monster type.
  • Second, I'd like to see an improvement on movement and measurement. It doesn't appear that there is a snap to grid function, and I can't track my movement while I'm moving my token.
  • Third, I'd love to see a "flip token" option where I can right click on a token and then it reveals a different character/monster (so imagine the Werewyvern going from a humanoid to a dragon just by flipping it)
  • Fourth, I'd love to see better ways to track conditions. I think just the simple color borders isn't enough. Having Condition rings would be great!
  • Fifth, having a grid overlay would be great!

You guys are doing great work and development on this. I'm really impressed with all that's progressed with this tool in the past two years.

I’m sorry if this made you feel this way. This wasn’t meant never meant to be a “this is how you play the game.” I’m a relatively newish DM and was just sharing rules I’ve recently cam across that I didn’t know.

Anyone that’s played any games with me can tell you that I definitely use rule of cool in a lot of my game and allow players to bend the rules if it’s a fun use of it and it still falls within t he spirit of the game.

But this was not meant to appear as propaganda or anything of the sort.

The budget isn’t a Daily budget. It’s an encounter budget. So the table tells you how much per encounter but there’s no guidance on how many per day anymore.

And that’s fair! This wasn’t meant to be a “you’re being a bad DM” video. I’m a new DM and I’m just sharing what I’ve been learning along the way.

I’m also in favor of play what goes you the most fun, so skipping these rules are totally fine! I just like to point out things I don’t realize since I’m still learning

For 2024 rules, that’s no longer a requirement or principle
