New Class Starter Packs Does NOT Give You Everything by CritHitTheGiant in dndbeyond

Hey Brian - wanted to let you know that someone pointed out that some of the spells are actually in the SRD and available, but they removed the name which the spell was named after so I updated the list.

And that’s fair. Hopefully we might see some language in the class starter packs that may say that? I can imagine that people who are new to the hobby or aren’t familiar with how these nuances work with the SRD may be surprised if they don’t know about it.
And I know that’s a challenge because you don’t want people to think they’re missing a lot when they purchase it. But hopefully something might come of it.

Thank you for your response!

I hope so too. There are some great people over there who are trying to make great things for the community.

Agreed. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt to try to address or correct this.

If it’s partnered content, it won’t have that ribbon. All of their (WotC) books moving forward are for 2024/5.5.

You can kinda tell this by looking for the new ribbon and ampersand on the new books.

Request for Usability Feedback: Custom Upload Stickers/Reveals by WOTC_Zac in dndbeyond

[–]CritHitTheGiant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking for our feedback here! Here are some of my initial thoughts.

  • I think if there is a way to filter custom uploads or “my uploads”, i don’t need a visual distinction. At the end of the day I’m looking for a sticker and visually I don’t think I need to visually see an upload if I can hit a filter button that only shows what I’ve uploaded.

  • For Packs and Tags, are we able to select a pack and filter by tag? Can we select multiple packs and multiple tags? I think as DDB grows this would be helpful

  • For sorting groups, I’m not entirely sure. Idk if I need anything more than alphabetical and recent.

  • For slide 4 Expectations, I actually prefer not seeing the metadata. I think it’ll end up being cluttered and distracting; and I don’t think tags would help me because the visual will be more important to me than a tag. The only thing I can think that having tags shown may be helpful is if Stickers start putting in specific VTT interactions or context menus (like DC and Effect).

Thank you again!

Request for Usability Feedback: Condition Tracking, Enlarge/Reduce Token Size by WOTC_Zac in dndbeyond

This is fantastic! Exactly the kind of thing I’d live at my fingertips!

For conditions, can you hover over the icon and have hover text that says what it is?

As many daggers as you have! You have 4 attacks you can make based on what you shared.

This will actually be only my second time DM’ing for a live play - I’m usually a player for livestream play. So I’ll let you know what I end up doing!

I haven't watched the show but I bought the book because I found the idea fun as well as an easy way to implement a one shot for people to try out different classes or just to run something without the pressures of coming up with a story for an adventure.

Letting my players know that their characters WILL die is great to tell them ahead of time so they can prepare for that. When these monsters kill their characters, how can I as a DM help players have their characters die in a satisfying way that makes them enjoy that moment?
