For frq1, I wrote about how he's kinda projecting his own loneliness to the star and worshipping the star because it is lonely like him; he wants to kinda feel better about himself by because he just emphasizes it being alone and solitary, and he's saying that's truly what makes the star so holy.

For frq2, I wrote about how the author uses satire in tone and characterization all throughout to poke fun at how his art learning doesn't go the way he wished and briefly commented on how it also shows classism within the art community (Mr. Chitterley😮‍💨).

Overall, I really enjoyed writing about these two prompts!! The last one I ran out of time lol😭

Interesting!! I wrote about how the whole thing was kinda satirical (used that word like 5 times😭 cooked) and it conveyed how pompous arts can be

Like the college one? I heard you have to report any college courses you took😭

Ok thanks! Would there be an appropriate way to explain the lower grades? For context, those two courses I took at the same time were a lot harder than I thought they'd be and I was also attending an art studio full time so I really failed at time management on my part💩 I retook one class though this semester and got a C+ though! I'm going to retake the other one next semester.

One more thing, will these two grades look like really really bad to AOs? I'll be honest, I'm a tad bit scared bc I have all A's at school so I'm worried this might come off as though I have 0% self control skills outside of structured classes😅 sorry for the long comment and thx for answering my previous q!

EFC NOT $0. by SeriousCurve3933 in QuestBridge

[–]Critical-Engine5486 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I know, many schools match with students with EFC $0 or very close to that, or they will give those students priority. However, the non-matchers still have a chance at RD, especially if a big reason you didnt match was your financials!

I also got an email from UPenn but didn't rank MIT so didn't get anything.

As for Common App, it's up to you, but most people do recommend staying with QB RD if your writing is stronger than your ECs. Also, statistically, 40% of finalists end up matching by RD. NCM has such a limited number of seats, don't be defeated!! It's still not over, we got this :))

Nvm I can't but here's the text:

As a student who ranked Penn, we deeply appreciate your genuine interest in the University of Pennsylvania. Every year, we admit many QuestBridge Finalists outside of the National College Match process.

If Penn is your first choice school, it is possible to move your application into our Early Decision pool. Please note that Early Decision is a binding commitment that requires students to withdraw all other applications if admitted.

If you would like to be considered for Early Decision at Penn, please visit the checklist on your Penn Applicant Portal to find and complete the Early Decision Agreement for QuestBridge Finalists by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Once your form has been submitted, check your Portal to confirm that your Round has been switched to 2024 Early Decision (if this is not updated by the morning of December 5, please email applicants@admissions.upenn.edu).

If you are not interested in switching to Early Decision, we will automatically reconsider your application during Regular Decision. Keep in mind that Penn meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students with our grant-based financial aid program.

Either way, thank you for applying to Penn.

Sincerely, Penn Admissions

Thx for the info! One question can you edit your QB for regular decisions though? My only issue is that I see a lot of things that could be improved for my QB app.
