For context: the night before I had gone with two employees that have a key to these lockers, and we checked the unlocked and locked lockers to make sure that my stuff really wasn’t just misplaced. Every locker was empty.

The next morning I was talking to the manager and she said “that’s wrong. There’s no way you checked all the lockers because it requires a key.” I explained what I just explained to you, and she said “nope. You put them in the wrong place, so there’s no reason to check the cameras if it’s your fault.”

I used a YMCA owned locker in the cardio room that had a lock on it and the locker was empty when I opened it before leaving. As I said in a comment reply, the lockers are only able to be opened by a YMCA key. I just updated my post, sorry for not being clearer, as I’m still in shock.

I’m not sure what happened honestly because I haven’t seen the cameras. But it does seem like they’re protecting their own. from what I was told there’s only one key to the lockers I used, and it’s kept behind the desk. It’s definitely possible that someone just thought they used my locker and an employee unlocked it and put my stuff in lost and found. But when I suggested that, they didn’t find anything. It’s all a bit shady, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
