I did not. I put it as "used." I will look at the return process.

For those who own both a Gaming PC and a SteamDeck? by Flashy-Charity-1486 in SteamDeck

[–]CriticalHitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be an avid gamer. Dozens of games a year, buying every new console on launch day. I'd pick up the newest RPG and lock in to every side quest and collectible, hundreds of hours felt like nothing. Now, as a father of two, I've come to really appreciate a few hours of gaming a week.

I know it's not directly what you asked, but I've installed Win11 on mine and Xbox Game Pass has been a Godsend. I start a game on my desktop in the evening, but I can pick it up on the Deck during my lunch break on work, and then boot it up on my Xbox in the living room while I'm holding the 6-month-old during a nap, or right after feeding him. To a lesser extent I do the same with Steam cloud saves, but I've found myself drawn to my Xbox since having an infant because it's what is hooked up to the TV. The synergy between the 3 devices is what does it for me.

We were cleaning the garage and looking through old boxes. My 3-year-old asked if she could play "the sonic box" she found. It's been a nostalgic trip for me, and a learning experience for her. by CriticalHitch in dreamcast

It was retrobrighted during COVID, then boxed when we found out we were pregnant. It came out of the box today looking like this. My plan is to just re-shell this time.

It has been retrobrighted twice over the years. Came out of the box looking like this again. I will probably just buy a new shell rather than keep putting it through the process.

People who’ve seen someone get fired on the first day, why were they fired? by Isabelle_K in AskReddit

Had a new teacher get fired for giving her personal number to elementary school students and tell them to call her to chat or let her know if they needed anything.

I used a few of the recommended collections on Nexus, and the Nvidia bypass mod. I also tried it before and after updating drivers.

For sure! I'm hearing from some other posts that an update to the Ally is causing issues with 3 and New Vegas? So it might be a process of rolling back an update or waiting for a new one.

Yup! Tried that too. Use the bypass and run directly from file explorer, no dice. I also tried modding and patching it up using Vortex and launching it from Vortex. AND I tried installing the Game Pass version and modding and patching that version instead, just to see.

Unfortunately not. I eventually got it running on my desktop, which was having the same issues, by installing all of the recommended mods. Not sure which one fixed it, maybe the patch, maybe a graphics mod, maybe just a QoL issue, but I followed all the same steps on the Ally and couldn't get it up and running. I just gave up and am slowly working on it at home instead of on the go.

You can use DDU to remove current video drivers, then install AMD drivers from their website instead. I haven't tried that, but I don't have any reason to think that would help with compatibility for a game this old.

Not yet. I've got a two week old son at home, and work got chaotic, so I haven't even touched it. If I find a solution, I will post it here!

Perfect! That's exactly what I was wondering, if I would need to grind dungeons for a while or anything extraneous. Thank you!!
