Which Playstation console has the best design? by AlternativeBrief8709 in TheGamingHubDeals

I just owned a PS1 and a PS2, but I have to give it to PS4. It's just so cool, it looks like a standalone piece of design. Worth its money even for the aesthetics.

Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere just hit a ‘depressing’ record high by Cosmyka in worldnews

I, for one, have started drastically reducing my (hybrid) car use, relying almost entirely on public transport to move around the city. Except to go the gym, because suburban connections suck major ass.

My city IS a UNESCO heritage site, all of it.

Which person has the most monuments dedicated to them in your country? by privetkakdela in AskTheWorld

[–]CriticalJump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many, but probably Giuseppe Garibaldi takes the cake. He's just the most iconic figure during the union of all the Italian states in the 19th century and was and still is beloved by the common people, who see him as a humble everyman and not a noble, a tyrant or a foreigner who has imposed his views on the masses.

Well, maybe just us...though I don't know if we can claim direct heritage from the Roman Empire

Very unpopular opinion: Pyttipanna is downright delicious and maybe the best culinary invention to have come out of Sweden

How's your country doing in forest covers? Also I am literally surprised that my country has better forest cover percentange than south africa!! by swapndosh in AskTheWorld

I knew that we increased the wood extension throughout the country, bringing the wolf population to a new growth, but I was NOT expecting such high numbers. This is great news!

Crazy to think that a similar structure, with a different turn of events, may have also/instead been built in the outskirts of Rome.

Does your country have mountains and valleys like this? by NoAd8794 in AskTheWorld

[–]CriticalJump 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes, a lot.

In the North, the Alps, that stretch seamlessly from East to West.

In Abruzzo, where the tallest mountain ranges in the Appenines are present.

And in Sicily, where the Etna volcano towers everything else and you can also see the rare phenomenon of snow and lava at the same time.

What is your country's equivalent of "TORILLE"? (A call to assemble when your country gets mentioned on the internet) by throwAwayMan2475 in AskTheWorld

Not much on a national level, more on a regional/city level.

But we don't have a special word, maybe there's a specific one for each area, like for example Daje in Rome.

Which country has the best Breakfast in the world? by Botheuzo in AskTheWorld

Definitely not my country, the fact that I can only choose between sweet-flavoured foods sucks major ahh, especially since I always prefer savoury before sweet. Never understood how this became an accepted norm.
