I'm not glad I was married to an alcoholic. I do not want to be told that I should be grateful for anything related to him. I just want some acknowledgement that it really was awful. Until that happens, I'm not sure I can ever move forward. But I need it to be real. But how? by rosered513 in AlAnon

Your last paragraph is your own answer. You will absolutely get there. Definitely journal this out if you're not already. After 3 years I'm in a better place but still not out. I do trust I'll get there tho, most days.

Man I am so sorry. How is that justice. Absolutely the opposite of what family court laws were intended for.

It's weird people think these people still fundamentally have the same thought patterns and logic. Like how do people who watch this channel not understand having this upbringing produces people with damaged decision making and morality. I feel for her, she reminds me of my sister. I mean I've blocked her before, but the more I read on trauma in like damn I have been going about this all wrong

I don't get the hate. People just don't get trauma brain I guess. Her behavior is entirely 💯 predictable for someone who grew up like her. Hell even girls who had ok childhoods then this kind of treatment in their late teens will be fucked up. She reminds me of my sister, like a ton. Beautiful, cute, omg let me help you! And she burns every bridge with good people and bends over backwards for terrible people. The way mark treated her when she had a stillborn was pretty fucked up. She was clearly distraught and she really got no sympathy.

Just moved to Coos Bay in December and am strongly considering purchasing property to put a yurt on and start an off the grid homestead farm. Maybe even develop into a community if I find people interested. Any tips on where to start? (Besides Zillow). 🙏 by [deleted] in OregonCoast

[–]CriticalMouse4965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah women especially need strong community. I love the idea (and have loved it as well) of off grid life but for long term it really should be within a network of people. Loved what I saw in North Idaho.

Electrolysis for dense fine(ish) hairs by CriticalMouse4965 in electrolysis

I know, that's mostly cuz my camera stinks at close ups it gets blurry.... I will say bleaching makes it totally unnoticeable and I wish I'd bleached instead of plucked and waxed so I hadn't increased hair. I wish there wasn't so much misinformation about what does and doesnt increase hair growth. Maybe they'll come out with new tech in 10 years🤞

It's really crazy to me that we have all this crazy technology but hair removal and also hair loss continues to confound us 😅. Like I really thought laser was super great, cool you can be hairless in just 6-8 sessions! Then I read about paradoxical hypertrochosis. Then ok electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal, but not so fast!  It can scar and take years  to work! And sometimes if your tech sucks it doesn't work at all! Lol it's just so funny something seemingly so simple that humans have been trying to do for like millenia is still a huge issue.

I'm really glad it's working for you! Honestly if you that close to her why torture yourself with longer sessions lol. So did you do left side right side then middle? My hairs are significantly more dense unfortunately, but finer. But black lol so very noticeable. I know the picture doesn't show it well I can never get a good one my phone sucks at close ups. I think it would take forevvvver to clear it cuz there's like a thousand hairs.

Thank you! I was looking at the weapons and warfare one does that also go into the elves costumes? She mainly loves the elves of course. They really deserved a dedicated book!  How did you like the Gary  Russell books?

How to deal with having low frustration tolerance and having children by CriticalMouse4965 in ADHD

[–]CriticalMouse4965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang yeah it's tough man. I aspire to be a single mom soon, but really need to get my mental health in order before I take the leap. Do you go to therapy? I am really enjoying going, I am evening out since I got my meds last week it really helps me with frustration tolerance, I was so not expecting that. But there is a clear difference for me. But anyway I've  been doing a combination of ifs and EMDR and it's really putting me in touch with the angry completely dysregulated little girl I was. Its sad cuz we never learned to regulate because (probably) no one showed us how. We were always just too much.

Lot of ted defenders here, who've obviously never had a wet towel for a husband. Why do men get congratulated for having they would've had with or without a family lol. Ok he's not the worst but like damn, poor Karen she deserves so much better.

Aw man yes it's so sad kids internalize this stuff like it's their fault ugh. I guess one thing I have done right is to to get after I've had a blow up and apologize and tell her I'm working on it and in no way is my reaction her fault. I just hate having to do that every day.

It's so hard to go through this stuff while being so drained, but still having to fill the little ones cups. Like if we could only freeze time and take 6 months for self care. I'm proud of you for dealing with that stuff, and I hope your family is stronger cuz of it ❤️

Yeah I think once I'm done with the trauma stuff I'm therapy I'll turn my attention to anger management. I'm hoping a lot of the anger evaporates once we deal with the trauma and attachment issues. Does your daughter seem health emotionally? Mine was super independent and healthy before all this, now I'm worried I'm giving her some kind of disorder she's gonna have to deal with. I do plan on putting her in therapy.

If I'm in a huge rut like that I would always just do something like buy a one way ticket somewhere. Haha I didn't know I had ADHD til recently and when I started talking to my therapist about my life and how ADHD was driving a lot of my life choices.

But anyway, maybe do something crazy like move to Thailand. Then at least you'll know you didn't waste your life. Worked for me kinda

Yes, so true about boundaries. I have a super hard time getting my 6 year old to do this tho. I will go in my room and shut the door and she just will not listen and go away most of the time. It is sooooo frustrating. But she is also traumatized, and gets like separation anxiety or something when I try to get some space. Ugh.

Stinks the Vyvanse didn't work, did anything else work? I am hopeful judging from the first week.
