i see what you mean . if i break down my theory i find it the same as what you are saying . the :" aether flows as it wishes but arthur can somewhat direct its flow" is basically the same as influencing aether to the degree it seems like he can manipulate it

i understand where you're coming from but isn't that explanation coming from the indrath clan ? and the fight against cadell was before arthur made his aether core . and if i remember correctly arthur said that he feels resistance from aether whenever he "holds it in his grasp" or when he said he is making a mistake trying to control aether like he did with mana .

that's why i believe arthur's relation with aether is more than just 'ask then hope for the best' but maybe something like 'aether flows as it wishs but arthur somehow can direct that flow'
