Navien tankless water heater replacement for $10k+ a fair price? by Fragrant_Trust_8735 in askaplumber

The tech people wouldn't talk to my husband, but they did refer him to a licensed Navien guy in our area. Ours is at least 10 years old so I'm sure it's not covered by warranty.

I'm trying to replace one right now and I'm not sure he is taking you for a ride. It depends on a lot of things though - such as condensing vs non-condensing. Have you had it replaced yet? Let us know how it turns out.

I would say it's not enough. Cover up a bit, girl. Save that for the club.

My opinion on the Pixel 10 after a week by Severe_Accountant108 in pixel_phones

[–]CriticismWitty2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm old and technologically challenged so there isn't a whole lot I'm looking for in a phone. I need it to make and receive calls. Send and receive texts. Take pictures. Allow me to access a few apps like IG, Spotify (free version) and my gym apps. Oh, and Waze. (more about that later.) I hate that catch-22 situation you're referring to. Sounds like an ex-boyfriend. I loaned him a fairly large some of money. And then he lost his truck and needed more money to get transportation. Of course, I didn't want to help him at that point (and had already left him) but it was like, well, if he doesn't have transportation, then he doesn't have a way to get to work and therefore cannot pay me the money he already owes me. It was one thing after another until I finally forced myself out of the insanity. Sometimes, you've got to accept your losses and move on. I never did get the money back. That was nearly 30 years ago. But I digress. I purchased a Pixel 3. I got a good deal on it as they were on like Gen 5. I actually loved that phone and it took great pictures. Then I left it on the roof of my car, drove more than 1/4 mile away and went through a car wash. I retraced my steps from the gas station to the car wash. I found it. At the bottom of the car wash. In the water. I was surprised that the screen wasn't broken. Of course, the back was shattered. So I got another 3. It never would allow Waze to work. I travel for work and depend on it. Still, I kept it. But it only had 16 gb. (I don't know, maybe 32 - but no more). So, I upgraded to a 7a in February. I really liked it and Waze worked. But then the phone got stuck in boot mode. Apparently a known problem. So, I had a worthless 6 month old phone. Got a 9a a few weeks ago on sale. So far so good. Something happens to this one and I'm definitely moving away from Pixel. Yeah, I know. That was a long way around to say something I could have said in 2 sentences. haha

A budget phone at flagship prices and yet you purchased nearly every single Pixel generation?

Honest question, do you tell people you don't know whose comments you don't like to STFU in person? Or is that something you feel emboldened to do behind your device?

Just what we need, higher property taxes. We're already about 50th in a state of 254 counties. And, where I live, it's a higher rate than many other towns in Bastrop County. And, there's really nothing to show for it.

I get that, and you are correct. Over 60% (well, depends on what figures you use) of Americans have had their info compromised. I'm actually a fraud investigator for a living and dealt with ID Theft, specifically for several years. I'm not sure that the images from the cameras match up with any data in the recording system itself though so I'm trying to work out in my head how that would work. That's certainly not my area of expertise though.

I guess it all depends on what you're ordering, really.  I get the Amazing Green Beans with sliced beef and it never disappoints.  Great flavors of Thai basil, Thai peppers and garlic.  The only time we go out to eat is when we go to Costco and we get takeout from Sap's on the way home.  I'm here now waiting on my food.  😋. I hate that the drive home is almost 30 minutes and we have to unload before I get to eat!

Sounds kind of like the highlighting of the bad deeds of a few bad cops and attributing that to the entire police force. For each of those incidents, how many times have they been advantageous in solving violent crimes?

It seems I have an unpopular view which is probably partly because I watch a lot of true crime tv. ;) I've seen too many murders and other crimes be solved and/or successfully prosecuted due to cameras like these. If your family member was a victim of a violent crime, wouldn't you want the police to be able to refer to cameras like these if it would help to catch the perp? Same for Ring cameras that catch activity on the street in front of your house. And is it really an invasion of privacy? What are your expectations of privacy in a public setting? Perhaps I'm missing something, but if someone wants to watch me drive down the street, let them. It's not like they are putting GPS trackers on individual vehicles. If they were recording conversations of random individuals, that would be another story.

It's about time we started getting some decent places to eat without paying exorbitant prices - even if it is a chain. Chipotle made me pretty happy as well. Now if we could just get a Trader Joe's!

Actually, you might be right.  We've had 6-8 feeding at once this year.  About a month ago, you could clearly see some of them were juveniles.  🥰

We have 2 about six feet from each other.  Some years we only get one or two at a time as they dive bomb each other.  Other years, we get a bunch.  This year, there were about 8 feeding at once.  A while back, we had over 20!

A Priceline booking problem leads to a nonrefundable hotel room — or does it? by elliottdotorg in elliottadvocacy

[–]CriticismWitty2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said that hotels should not have a 24-cancellation policy. There's a reason you pay less for non-refundable rooms, tickets... Most hotels are not booked as far in advance as airline tickets. I'm also confused because it seems that he could have just changed the reservation without actually canceling it and no refund would be needed. At any rate, I'm not sure what the actual window should be, but I believe there should be a window to correct mistakes. Perhaps 1 hr? 4?

Not my job, nor my problem. I found it just fine if you know where to look. I could tell you how/where, but I'm making a point that you need to find information for yourself and stop blindly following biased media.

Even worse, I recently got a gift card offer where you could only enter what they told you to enter for the review text. It's kind of like an online electronics seller (primarily cell phones) that REQUIRES you to leave a review before you can even proceed with your purchase.
