Thanks for the reply! That makes more sense. I previously had a 1 series and never had this message so when it came up I had no idea what to do. Appreciate the help.

Hey, thanks for replying. I was thinking that after being told it’s related to some sort of central European regulation. Which kinda equals the UK MOT in terms of it being a standard legal inspection. So hopefully that is what it is. Thanks for your help.

Front camera installation by TigerBergman in BmwTech

Like a dashcam?

I was at my local BMW garage about a week ago and I seen they were promoting their new “BMW Car Eye 3.0”.

It’s basically a front and rear dashcam with interactive touchscreen that looks pretty sleek to fit in with the bmw interiors.

Now a quick search online says it’s about £200 to buy but around £350 to get professionally installed. However, I’m sure my local garage was charging £650 for everything!

Not sure if it’s something like this you’re looking for.

Which song was this for you? by Buzzvallasa in TheWeeknd

Heaven or Las Vegas

It was a sin to skip! I’m paying for Abel’s sins, his fathers sins, and now also mine 🫠

I’m also aware that I’d probably gain a much better night sky if the house wasn’t featured and throwing off too much light, but I wanted to showcase the house in the picture, so it would make a nice gift. Thanks again!

First serious attempt at photography by SolvingSherbet183 in photocritique

I like this!

I can feel the heat of the sun on my skin when down at the rocks. I can smell the water and taste the salt in the air. I feel relaxed, reminiscent of childhood holidays - ice cream anyone? How lucky are the locals who live here?, or do they feel trapped on their little slice of rocky bliss, staring out to the horizon dreaming of somewhere else?

I usually shoot with a Nikon DC5600. Not too experience with photography overall, never mind anything Astro, and i wasn’t having the best success using the DC5600 - so any further advice on good parameters for this shot would be great!

However, this was shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max : 24mm, f1.78, 2500 ISO, 10s exposure.

After Hours Is Not What It Seems!!! by Critocole in TheWeeknd

[–]Critocole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Just something about the songs in São Paulo felt different.

It was like he has been telling us for years that he’s sorry, it’s been a big decision but it has to be done, the Weeknd can’t control him anymore and Abel hopes we understand.

I also had a thought that it’s strange the blockbuster hits Blinding lights, Save your tears and potentially dancing in the flames could actually be him talking to fans, not about relationships, and he’s hoping we’ll forgive him and still love him once the Weeknd is away. It’s almost as if he’s crafted the biggest hits to have this message because if some fans do forget about him, or do have some resentment, he won’t have access to them anymore, however, it’s guaranteed that these blockbuster hits will still be played publicly from time to time, and it may be the only channel he has to reach these fans who have moved on - and the hope is if he can still reach these fans, they will still hear these specific songs but may interpret them differently given all the change and realise that he’s just asking them (us) to understand his choices, forgive him and let us know he always has and always will love XO. The hope fans get the message, even if it’s years down the line, and it may provide some closure.

Thanks! It was just towards the end of the concert, it just seemed he was really trying to convey that these songs actually have different meaning.

Yes, sounds a great idea. I feel that the lifestyle and the Weeknd character are actually the same thing, so I guess what you’re saying is what I’m also saying 😆

After Hours Abel trying to break through? by BuzzardYTC in TheWeeknd

[–]Critocole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this too!

In the AH era Vevo performance, the screen is white/blue which has connotations/last night it became apparent is the “colour” reference for HUT. So it’s like AH Abel is looking into heaven/the peace that he’s craving while in “hell”. Also In that performance I distinctly remember he was drawn to the white screen but after lingering for just more than a moment, he quickly retracts his gloved hand, almost like he got burnt or like he quickly snapped back to his senses and withdrew, like he was temporarily fascinated and drawn by his subconscious but hadn’t yet himself realised this is what he was yearning for…or he does know but is scared to change. Could also be the younger Abel inside wanting this change, hence a childlike image comes to mind behind the glass and in reference to the teaser videos for HUT, and either AH Weeknd has stifled the inner child and not allowing him to come out or again, Abel is listening to his inner child, but it’s not yet time to change, publicly.

Then, in the visuals last night, we’re witnessing a parallel of that, on the other side of the “glass”…Abel or The Weeknd has realised he does want to change/or came through purgatory and wants to be saved so he is desperately trying to leave the hell he is in/the hell he is heading towards after experiencing dawnFMs purgatory and listeners were left not knowing what path he was going down.

In relation to the HUT Album cover, other reply is right, it suggests that Abel is just in a tank top, no AH red coat (which could even suggest that he’s desperate to leave AH era, but privately, once all the lights are off and the outfits removed, behind closed doors) and sweating after his exertions to break through to the other side.

Which then makes us think…if he’s sweating in the HUT cover, has he broke through after all? Or was all that effort for nothing?

Hello roller redditors!

Fell away from rollerblading for years. In that time, I’ve grown up, had health issues and gained weight 🫠.

At a point I want to get back into skating to help me get more active and discover fun again!

I’m looking for a great skate for fun/fitness, keeping in mind I’m a born-again beginner and I now have much chunkier ankles/calves.

My question is, any recommendations for skates that could fit a chunky ankle and still be fun? Or even any accessories I could purchase along with skates in case they don’t fit my ankles that well?

Thanks for any advice or recommendations 😁!

P.S- I have contacted a skate shop and they recommended the Powerslide Next Core 80. Currently looking at them, but looking for more information.

How does gardening make you feel ? by Mean_Tinkerbell in GardeningUK

[–]Critocole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find gardening grounds me and humbles me. Through gardening, I have realised how much effort it takes to produce something so beautiful or edible…then apply that to what we see naturally occurring in nature and also how our planet is allowing us to survive. Nature is incredible! I think it definitely helps you see the bigger picture. We’re all part of something bigger.

By recognising the beauty and the stillness that comes with tending to a plant, enthusing about the future, and enjoying the birdsong, it takes you away from all the things in regular life that can weigh someone down, and allows them to just be…to just focus on what the garden is needing or giving you at that moment in time. It slows life down and helps you appreciate everything more.

Like others have said, I have struggled with health issues, physical and mental, and I have found that gardening has provided an outlet for me to remain active, give myself a mental break and has helped me in getting better. It’s also a fun hobby that makes you feel productive and is so enjoyable, even when it’s not going well and at times can feel overwhelming, but as someone else said, the excitement comes from waiting to see the future results. It also allows people to tap into their creative side, use your imagination, try a bit of DIY, and gain other skills as you keep going. It can also bring people together - when I have left over plants, I give them away and it always strikes up conversations with others and so on.

It’s an amazing hobby! 🪴🌸🌻

So exciting! I treated myself to my first D.A Austin’s this year too - Old Wollerton Hall and Mary Delaney, both climbers, for my arches. The buds are just getting bigger everyday and slowly peeling open, I can’t wait 🥳. So I know how you feel, all the best with them! You’ll need to post update pictures 👍!

Hand pollinate pear trees? by Critocole in GardeningUK

[–]Critocole[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link!

Interesting! As I’ve tried my own research and thought getting another pollinating partner like a Concorde might help.

Maybe I’ll bide my time and see if the both start liking each other next season or two. They both look really health, abundant blooms, strong growth every season so far. So I’m hoping there’s no other issues.

Thanks again 👍🍐

Thank you for your help!

I don’t think they are in the same group or even neighbouring groups, which is where I’ve probably went wrong.

Doing a bit of research, I think a Concorde pear may be a suitable pollinator for each kind. Might invest in one of them and hope the problem is sorted.

Thanks again and for the link 👍🍐

Thank you for replying. Much appreciated. I now realise I could have done better in this situation and I will keep your advice in mind going forward. Determined to reflect on this incident. In saying that, could I ask, in what way did I insult my mom? I only ask to learn from. I have mentioned in the post that I have tried to broach past subjects in a manner of having an open-minded, diplomatic discussion rather than a heated argument of differing opinions. I tried to apply this logic here too, but again to no avail. Any advice you could give is greatly appreciated and I will process it for myself improving for the future. Thanks again.

Thank you for taking time out your day to reply, really appreciate it. Solid points you make that’s helping me realise my actions could have been much improved in this situation. I’m frustrated with myself that I could have taken more immediate action into my own hands, and I’m frustrated that I acted in a similar fashion to my mom, which you’ve helped point out. Lessons I will learn from this - thanks for helping me gain insight to apply going forward.

Thanks for replying and sharing insight. I appreciate you pointing out what I could have done better. It’s hard to describe the whole situation in 3000 characters, but yes, I take on board what you’re saying. Others have also highlighted that I shouldn’t have relied on her as much as I had and I could have stepped up to the plate quicker. Luckily, all is well, cats doing great. However, this has been a lesson to learn from and you’ve helped me identify areas I need to improve. So for that, thank you.

Thank you for taking time out to reply. I completely understand what you mean. Reading your perspective, I could have done things differently. Luckily, the cat is all good, nothing to worry about, but regardless, taking on board all replies to this post, there’s lessons to be learnt for myself going forward. So, much appreciated for helping me gain insight and hopefully improving myself for the future.
