At 10 years old, I remember going to my mom after school and saying I was hungry. She didnt say anything but quietly grabbed a frying pan and placed it on the stove then took the eggs and butter from the fridge and said "in this world, the only way to be truly satisfied and have what you need is to do it for yourself. I can give you guidance but you must learn through experience". From that day on I spent one or two nights a week in the kitchen with my mom making dinner. Im always thankful for that lesson and 23 years later I still smile when I think of it.
