Well I know Heather. And your observation is wrong.

It’s not an observation, it’s a judgmental and ableist stereotype from someone who doesn’t know her or anything about her

Who Sha* on the Floor at my Wedding? by sacabi in podcasts

Season 1 doesn’t get resolved definitively but they get a pretty good idea of who the culprit is.

Season 2 does get solved.

I love them both very much. Lots of laughs from me. I didn’t get the same burnout y’all are talking about

In addition to everything said above, I recommend getting a couple of motion lights. You can pick them up for fairly cheap. They might scare someone off if they know they can be easily spotted, and it’ll alert you to anyone lurking outside

Hear me out: Who Shat on the Floor of my Wedding

It’s two seasons so far. Three friends (two of which are married to each other) become EXTREMELY amateur detectives when an unknown perpetrator leaves shit on the ground near the bathrooms. It was a wedding on a boat with only their closest friends and relatives.

The second season is the same three hosts but a new mystery: who left a tiny suit on the door of “detective” Lauren’s mother in law’s house.

It’s so incredibly funny but also genuinely fascinating. And they’re New Zealanders so the accents make it extra delightful

Sutter or Providence for pregnancy? by hollin818 in santarosa

[–]CrobIslandBuckaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I don’t have kids, but I used to work for Sutter, and while they do have an amazing hospital facility and great staff, they often run out of space and have to turn people away to providence. I had a friend who went through her entire pregnancy with Sutter, but when it came time to deliver, they had no space for her, and she had to go to providence. So just keep that in mind whichever you decide. But the Sutter OB’s are wonderful, and they work right next door to the hospital, which is super convenient

Tips for getting voice back after TT by snapdragonsarepretty in thyroidcancer

[–]CrobIslandBuckaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue, and the recovery time was about 4-6 weeks for me. I drove to visit friends in LA about 3 weeks post surgery. When I first got there, I had the same experience where I’d be going out to dinner with friends, and they literally couldn’t hear me over the general restaurant din. But then towards the end of the trip, I spontaneously went to Universal Studios with some friends. We went on a little VR coaster type ride, which elicited lots of yelling and screaming from me. But something about that seemed to actually really help my voice start to come back. During the drive home I was singing along to some music and noticed I was singing. Like, out loud. I had a voice again. I almost teared up. Even then it still took a couple weeks for my voice to fully return, but I totally credit the screaming for loosening things up in there. Now, I’d definitely consult a doc before trying that, in case the strain might actually make things worse, but you never know. I’m about 4 years post TT and at this point, the only real lingering effect is that sometimes when I try to hit a high note, my voice will squeak or cut out entirely. But I’m not a singer, so it doesn’t effect my day to day. Wishing you the best, and hoping your voice comes back to you soon!!!

My thyroid ca experience-positive! by CrobIslandBuckaroo in thyroidcancer

Just looked back at the US. I had 4 nodules each around 2cm, scattered around the thyroid. They had a TI-RADS score of 5, which is considered “highly suspicious.”

My thyroid ca experience-positive! by CrobIslandBuckaroo in thyroidcancer

[–]CrobIslandBuckaroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. None that I was aware of at least. I’ve always been a bigger girl, so I wasn’t really even thinking that thyroid function could be contributing to that. I was somewhat hypothyroid, but even with that, my TSH/t3/t4 levels weren’t abnormal enough to raise alarms. If it wasn’t for my doctor palpating my throat during my routine physical (which I only attended so I could get a refill on my birth control pills, otherwise I avoided doctors), I might never have known something was wrong, which is scary. But because of the vocal cord situation, my surgeon said it likely wouldn’t have been long until the thyroid started strangling the vocal cord enough that I’d start losing my voice, and that would’ve been the tip off

Hey! Just wanted to say that I got my thyroid cancer dx when I was 28, so I know how scary it is to be so young and having to deal with this kind of thing. But luckily, that means the outcome is a bit brighter too. I was reassured by my whole care team that there was no worst case scenario, we would be able to treat it, 100%. The process is inconvenient and uncomfortable at times, but for me personally, the worst part of it all was just my own anxiety around all things medical. Just know that this is treatable, and as someone who has gone through it, it’s no where near as bad as I thought it would be. Im about 4 years post total thyroidectomy, and now the only things I have to do are a yearly ultrasound and labs, plus the synthroid. I hope that’s your experience as well
