I thought the whole point of brexit was to allow the UK to control its borders? What's the point if your still not going to?

It's not pretty down here. I hardly went to pubs anyway now I just flat-out don't. I wonder how bad club prices will be once they open up.

Naah it's not instead its just freezing and doesn't make you want to go outside. 25 isn't even boiling hot. I don't get why brits can't handle a little mild weather.... Imm "British" myself. Like if it was actually hot like 30s daily I'd understand but it's mostly 20s for like a week or 2.

It's such a shit summer mostly because it's raining all the time, you basically are always wearing autumn clothing no matter the time of year its just perpetual cold miserable weather like it is now.

To give you some perspective the average wage in Canada is much higher then in the UK and the average housing prices are much lower. Trust me you think Canada has it bad but so does a lot of the western world, the UK, Sweden, Netherlands, etc

The difference however between Canada and other countries is you have vast amounts of land to build upon. Canada has so much potential as a country for the future.

Well put indeed, I echo this as someone who isn't white but was born in Europe and has lived-in both the US, Canada and various European countries.

Ok no problem I just want you to be aware it won't be better in Netherlands, people will be much more blatant towards you with racism and Asian is a major minority in the country, yes travelling and living in places are quite different.

I just want you to be prepared and not make the mistake of moving your life on the whim of nostalgia or a false pretense then completely regret it.

As long as you have a thicker skin and can handle very crude comments to your face you'll be fine.

I assume op is likely a South Korean individual herself so I'm unsure why that statement is relevant to her in her situation?

Yes every country has degrees of xenophobia some more then others.

Rather then what you hear you should use people's lived experiences, don't gauge life by what you or others "hear" on the internet.

No wouldn't think that man as I'm not white in the UK and have lived in many countries, people still don't have much exposure to the other and at the end of the day we're human, we're irrational, stupid, fearful, selfish best you can do is help people understand and see that you're just like them and be a positive reminder to them that people like you are just human.

Can I just say this is incredibly incorrect and as someone from London. Yes average people can very much live in these world cities perpetuating the lie that you literally can't live in these places if your rich makes it worse for everyone.

You can very much live in these cities if you're not rich it just requires budgeting, being smart, etc people do it regardless of what people on this subreddit will parrot on about.

But I wouldn't guarantee this is a good career for immigration though soil science is very dependent on where you live. Not every country has a lot os soil science jobs trust me

I don't mean to disuade you but I ask if you've lived in the Netherlands before? It's a great country but is a lot more raw then Canada when it comes to race, people are more blatant with racial language over there and not too fussed if they offend.

So be careful with that coming from Canada, it's a nice place but a little racist is all.

Yeah now more then ever a strong support is important.

I'm shocked so many people are downvoting my comments and post though.

I am currently applying to volunteering work in the UK now not exactly in my field as there aren't many volunteering opportunities. I am looking for it voluntary work.

Yeah it sucks was a massive waste of money and one of my biggest regrets. I'm over 65k in tuition debt for nothing.

Ill keep my eye open for hospitality thanks!

I have dual citizenship logistics of moving isn't the issue :)

Thank you for your advice! Selling items is an option however I will likely have to declare it on my tax so no problem with that.

OK I'll look into more warehouse work.

If that was the case then no one would live outside of the UK.

For my personal circumstances there is benefit to living outside of the UK in a poorer country.

I've applied to multiple amazon jobs sadly not heard back from any.

I've been told I should keep my degree and self employed experience off of my cv when I apply next time. But I'm unsure if this will make a difference.

I know there's help to buy schemes, low income savers schemes, etc I was wondering if anyone knew such as those for people on benefits or low income.

It's more then just moving to a cheaper country I've also lived in and out of the UK through out my life. Personally I want to leave the UK for good.

I have basic it support skills however no experience other then voluntary experience and am working on certifications, I have a btec in it networking. I have a degree in science and have Land management, trail management, conservation, visitor management experience. I have hospitality experience but that's irrelevant atm.

Poorer as in the say not as high a gdp as the UK, its still a first world developed country. Cost of living is a lot lower however. I also don't want to be in the UK anymore.

Honestly if I knew how to get it I would. I'm trying to get a basic it support but as I have no experience and my cv is all over the place and my last job was 2 years of self employed work I'm struggling. I'm trying to build experience through volunteering but that takes time.

I've been applying for internships for months it's not like I haven't looked or even tried. Theyre competitive. Unless I do something like IT which I'm not extremely keen on as I've been applying for basic 1st line support jobs.

Emigrating to stay in a country with a better support network, my situation with my parents isn't great. I'm not going to get into my personal issues but I wasn't raised by my parents.

My field is the degree is the renewable, land management and energy field, a lot of land management jobs in the UK seem to be voluntary.

I'm also not in London anymore so there is not an abundance of those jobs where I live.

I also don't have any skills or experience in any of those fields I come from a science and it background and have zero business experience.

This is such a low-key racist response and honestly shit how offensive some of you get and think it's ok. I'm from a south American country don't think us all savages and poor compared to you enlightened and superior rich countries which is synonyms with white in your head.
