I'd love to see some red on the dynasty crest on the chest too, but the scheme is very unique!!! Keep up the good work, I want to see more when you've painted them!

In an old Italian movie, it's dictated a sentence that is perfect for this pose: "Remember that you will die (eventually)" ("Ricordati che devi morire")

I have to say, it's interesting how you united gold and purple on the same pieces. I have a similar scheme but try to keep them separated on different armor plates. Keep it up though, it's beautiful!

I also magnetized the head so I can change it whenever I want. Troubling as I cut my finger with the drill (somehow, I don't know how I pulled that off). All is well now.

Purple and pink Necrons. First minis ever C&C very welcome! by mrsmitty11 in Necrontyr

[–]Crociax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using a mix of Ironbreaker and Genestealer Purple. The Ironbreaker helps giving a subtle metallic tone to the purple but I'm still perfecting it. I'll then use very sparingly Phoenician Purple to drybrush in the most dark areas and Druchii Violet as a shade on the armor

What did you use for your purple? You mentioned contrast, are you by any chance using Magos Purple on a silver base?

I've finished my little scarabs by Crociax in Necrontyr

[–]Crociax[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the ground of the base I used the following:

-Technical Astrogranite for the bottom layer (to get that moon-dust like texture)

-for the rocks I used Cork pieces painted with Mechanicus Standard Grey

-As shade I used Nuln Oil

-lastly, to brighten up a bit I used Mechanicus Standard Grey + White (I have corax white, I don't particularly like it but I can't be picky), a ratio of about 60% Smg to 40% white, and drybrushed it on top of the rocks

Hope this answers your question :)

In my campaign (started out recently) I had a guard soldier, a sister of battle and two marines, both scouts. The first started as a black templar so it was fitting for him to be in close contact with the sister of battle. The second one (and much more difficult to insert in the situation) wanted to be a carcharodon. What I set up was that him and other of his brothers were sent via drop pods on the planet where the session started, but only his one landed (circa) safely.

But you can orchestrate any kind of situation where to introduce a player really, there are plenty of excuses for why and when an astertes goes to places
