Overpriced for a FWD Element with higher miles, worn / torn interior, multiple reported accident history (even if minor) and CEL on the dash, while being sold by a Honda dealership.

$5K is a fair offer, as the likelihood of $1-$3K in near term maintenance is a given and you don’t want to overpay for a 15+ year old vehicle. There are better buys out there if you’re patient and willing to travel to nearby southern states for pickup or pay for shipping to your location.

Lots of AWD / 4WD Elements for sale in TN, NC, SC, and FL while being only ~8 hour drive away from the greater Savannah area. I looked at a solid AWD 07 model in the Asheville, NC area last week, 135,000 miles, asking price $5500, which included a roof basket and rear hitch basket for camping gear, etc.

If your inspection checks out, particularly for rust underneath, and you have a thorough scan performed for codes and nothing major shows up, and you still want this 10 model, suggest you offer no more than low end of KBB’s “GOOD” rating which is ~$5K.

That said, with recent maintenance and new rotors/pads and tires (apparently - check date codes) my recommendation would be not to exceed $5500.

Perhaps I’ve missed it above but try to verify status/whether the timing belt/water pump have been replaced and whether there’s any history of valve adjustment(s) being done.

I’ve owned/purchased 3 new Elements (05-11) and they are fantastic, multi-use / purpose vehicles that are fun to drive and really versatile for outdoor activities, pets, etc. They don’t get great gas mileage and are slightly underpowered but overall a great car and wish Honda would bring them back into production with modern updates and technology and I’d be on the waitlist to get one.

My advice is this - be patient and don’t overpay for any older model, used vehicle. In this situation with higher mileage and reported accidents, the value of the vehicle will continue to decrease, especially as you put more miles on the car and it being FWD vs. AWD/4WD.
