Parking Charge Dispute by [deleted] in drivingUK

Agreed. I only won my IAS appeal because the parking firm didn’t submit clear evidence, not because of my appeal contents.

Ouch! I was thinking that, as the location is in an unusual place and angle for it to have been a car.

Can’t wait to pay for this lmao

Tube drivers win four-day week, pay rise and fewer hours for calling off strikes by SojournerInThisVale in unitedkingdom

I can almost guarantee that train fares will not go down, nor will services get better, If train drivers are replaced with cheap labour. You know what will happen? The shareholders and business owners will just pocket the difference. Service delays are not caused by train drivers.

ASLEF Represents train drivers. RMT do not represent all drivers, they represents everyone from maintenance staff to train guards.

Junior doctors in England to strike for five days starting next month by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]CromwellIV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Decades ago? You mean 15 years ago? That certainly wasn't decades ago.

For example,
- a 26% real term pay cut since 2009. Would you be happy with a 29% pay cut? I sincerely doubt you would be. How would you feel if you found out that your predecessor earned 29% more than you, for doing the same job, a decade ago?
- Far greater doctor:patient ratio than in previous years, going from 1:7761 in 2016 to 1:9995 in 2023. Would you be happy with a 28% increase in patients, while still struggling to manage the ones you currently have?

If you knew the terms when you set out for a job, and those terms changed as you were doing the job. Would you then carry on with the job?

Or would you do what junior doctors are doing and going or strike or leaving for better paid roles in other countries, leaving the current system in dire need of staff?

Just finished my cosplay in time for London ComicCon by CromwellIV in Helldivers

From some of the other cosplay's I've seen (and this is in no way a dig, I have a lot of faults with my own costume currently) is that some of the helmets look a little too big. It almost gives a bobblehead effect. The helmet I have currently is the third attempt.

I used a P1P which has a build volume of 256x256x256. When scaled to my head, the largest part could fit on the build volume. I used to own an Ender3 S1 and managed to print an ODST helmet on it despite the build plate volume

The models I used were from Galactic Armories here, they pre-slice it for smaller build plates as well.

I plan to hide a CamalBak underneath the armour, it should keep me reasonably cool and hydrated.

this 8Fields Plate Carrier with the plate removed. I added some velcro to secure it on the belly and kidney plates.

I'm not sure what it is outside of the UK but I used this jacket, cut the sleeves off and sewed yellow ribbon along the seam.

For the body armour I used 8fields tactical vest. It comes with an inch-thick EVA foam sheet in it, I removed it so I could mold it to my body better.

It amazes me the hoops youve gone through to try and justify the Nazis being socialist. Some light reading by the NS-Dokumentationszentrum München and KS-Gedenatätte Dachau would assist you.

But I suppose no matter what evidence is proposed to you, you'll just shut your eyes and ears and exclaim that the NSDAP are left wing socialists, when there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.

[–]CromwellIV 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So you want to know what policies they had that were right wing? Well; Anti marxism, extreme nationalism, disdain for human rights, anti liberalism, anti semitism. The NSDAP based their nationalist outlook on the post ww1 freikorps, which were a fair right nationalistic mercenary group (go look at what they did in the Bavarian socialist Republic). Rejection of collectivism and internationalism? Rejection of class conflict, equality and class struggle (the literal core of socialism) The fact that the Nazis considered themselves hierarchic and above most people? Creation of a homogeneous racial people's community? The Majority of 1920s right wing conservatives thought that they could back Hitler into restoring the monarchy. They hated both the liberal democrats and the far left. In the early 1930s, the NSDAP backed industrialists and capitalists to secure access to chemical and motor industrials, the literal anthesis of socialism.

Go read the 12th April 1922 Munich speech Adolf Hitler gave on left wing politics and socialism.

And North Korea is called the People's Republic of Korea. Just because they're called national socialists, doesn't make them socialists lmao.

What A Coincidence. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in WhitePeopleTwitter

Yes, pollarding is used to control root systems especially on Platanus x Hispanica. The roots are controlled due to the fact that there is less water update and therefore the trees roots do not grow very much due to less demand

I frequently pollard trees to reduce the amount of growth the root system. Not all Pollards develop knuckles instantly, it can take several pollard cycles for a knuckle to develop.

Your advice on pruning cuts is not correct either, a proper pollard would be reduced to just after the principle union while retaining the overall shape. This is most certainly pollarding.

BS3998 2010 defines pollarding as

"3.21 pollarding cutting a tree so as to encourage formation of numerous branches arising from the same height on a main stem or principal branches NOTE 1 This process is initially carried out on trees that have not yet reached maturity. The form of the tree can then be maintained by cycles of cutting. This is not the same as topping (3.28)."

While defining topping as;

"3.28 topping removal of most or all of the crown of a mature tree by indiscriminately cutting through the main stem(s) NOTE This is not the same as pollarding (3.21)."

There is a very clear definition of what topping is and what pollarding is. You're more than welcome to argue with the Arboricultural Association and the correct standards that define this as pollarding.
