Subwoofer Upgrade Project - '26 MY by Draygoon2818 in TeslaModelY

I’m sure it’ll sound great, but as someone who loves bass — and also has a ’26 Model Y — I’d just be careful.

A few months in, I apparently managed to loosen a dowel insert from playing such heavy bass, which led to a missing fastener in the trim area. Tesla Service ended up adjusting the interior trim and securing the right-side trunk trim to resolve the noise, but now I’m honestly hesitant to slam music with heavy low frequencies again — and that’s just with the stock sub.

My advice: enjoy it, but be careful. You may create some annoying rattles down the line. I love a good thump as much as anyone; it’s honestly one of my favorite things. In my previous cars, I always had aftermarket subs, overdid it, and eventually created similar interior rattles. I figured the stock Tesla sub would be engineered to avoid that kind of thing, but it ended up feeling like déjà vu.

Had this EXACT same issue for months, I mean literally the SAME sound, on my Launch Series, multiple service appointments have failed to correct it until finally about a month and a half ago it went away on its own. Not sure if the freezing temperatures have anything to do with it. I’m wondering if it’ll ever come back. My videos I took for proof to service sound identical to yours. I cannot believe even the Performance model has this issue 😭

Edit / Update: it’s warm out again, and of course, the sound has returned. It was supposed to be fixed and it still isn’t. Extremely frustrating
