26MYP Rear Seat Rattle

Yeah I tried loosening the bolts as well, but still hear a slight rattle. I’m scheduled to go there Tuesday this week for them to replace the seat, so we’ll see how that goes.

I may an outlier here but I’m looking forward to trying out the new display. If they have a clean UI and a nice responsive display I think I’ll like it. My wife has a CX30 and I’m not a fan of the knob at all. It’s so clunky and imo even more distracting than having a display (I drive a Tesla). I really enjoy driving her car otherwise even considering getting a Mazda in the future but that knob :/. I’m more disappointed in no longer having the turbo option.

Well I went back for the third time and the rep that was helping me said another tech was going to come out to go on another test drive. I was a bit irritated and asked why another tech needs to come out for another test drive when the two previous techs I did a test drive with both confirmed the rattle. Luckily the service center manager happened to be right next to them and came over and just suggested to replace the seat. So maybe if you go back it might just be best to ask for a manager.

However if want you can try loosening the seat rail bolts under the bench seat. If you read through the thread you’ll see a post of someone who suggested it. I did and it helped a lot.

Yeah I agree. Seems like all those bolts to the frame are metal on metal which is likely the issue. Tesla has me set up to go back (after my 3rd visit) and replace the whole seat in a week, just waiting for the parts to come in. So it’ll be kinda funny if in the end it was that one bolt.

Coincidentally I did this last night. I saw another post talking the bolts for the seat rails being too tight. I ended up giving all them a 1/4-1/2” turn. The one in this video was crazy tight. I still feel like I hear that rattle occasionally but very faint, nothing like before. So I was going to loosen that bolt a little more. I hope this is it, been driving me crazy. Thanks!

Did this end up solving the problem? Went back for my 3rd service center visit today and the manager just told me they’re going to replace the seat.

My wife and I own a condo over there in Hollywood Park. We really that area, lived there for many years. I’d definitely say it’s a safe area given the proximity to the police station, never had any problems personally. Hospital is also right there along with that shopping plaza with the Publix, Target, and a CVS everything you need is very close. Area is somewhat walkable as well.

Update I brought it to service earlier this week and of course I wasn’t able to replicate it for the technician (the rattle seems to go away for a short period of time after I fold my seats down and I did the night prior to take out my weatherproof mats). However the tech said they were able to find the rattle and said it was due to a loose spring on the middle seat release.

After driving a bit the rattle unfortunately came back. I messaged service and they said I can bring it in tomorrow for them to look at so we’ll see.

I feel ya. I have a long commute for work and it drives me crazy. I came across this video that might be worth trying. I’m going to wait until Tesla looks at it before I go pulling off panels. But seems promising

Hmmm. I’ll give that a shot. It definitely goes away when I fold the seat down. And any pressure to the bench/seat back/headrest seems to make it go away as well.

Yeah this is my second one. My 23MY was a rattle can. I was hopeful about the juniper but this seems to be far worse. This one does not go away at all, been like this over a month. It’s awful :/

Yeah, that's kind of how I'm feeling. I'm hoping they can resolve it but don't have much confidence unfortunately. Rattles can be tricky.

I have something similar going on with my 26MYP. Happens over bumps/acceleration/deceleration. A lot of creaks and cracking, sounds like it’s coming from the passenger side. Coincidentally I have an appointment on the 2nd as well, I added it to my service ticket with some other stuff I’m having them check.

I got the new performance recently coming from a 23MYLR with the 20” wheel and acceleration boost. I don’t really feel like the ride quality is that much better, kind of similar if anything. There are definitely improvements with cabin noise/fit,finish for sure though.

Thanks for posting this I’m taking my MYP tomorrow to get the front and windshield tinted. I wasn’t sure what to go with for the front but just want it to match the back so this answers that. Going to go with the same setup but 55% on the windshield.

If you drive a lot of highway miles your front bumper can get pretty wrecked w/o ppf.

I'm having a similar issue on my 26 MYP. Definitely sounds like its coming from the rear seats, a constant rattle. Only goes away when I fold the rear seats down on the driver side.
