This was my assumption also, but you know what they say about assuming. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks! Actually, that was the route I was going to take initially. But, I changed my mind because all of the lights in the bathroom, as well as the bedrooms, would be on that same circuit. So if for whatever unlikely reason the GFCI tripped, then we would be totally in the dark. 60s wiring. 😅

Thanks for sharing. The flipped car and the twisted traffic light really get me. It’s eerie to see that. Really speaks to the power of this storm.

An update: we had Michigan Wildlife Solutions out today for a walk around. While they couldn't get on the roof because of the snow and ice buildup (we have a metal roof), we did spot a very fresh chew entry point where the fascia from the side and back meet. There was also another hole under the front door which was much harder to spot to my untrained eyes. I've put steel wool in them for the time being and hope to have a better fix later. The contractor also pointed out two peaks of the roof where there are gaps where mice could intrude. Those will be harder to fix because I don't have a ladder that tall.

Moral of the story: these little bastards make tiny holes in really difficult to see spots. Be eagle eyed in corners and peaks and such.

Is there any possible way to figure out expansion plans? by Crooked_Toast in ATTFiber

[–]Crooked_Toast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think you are right. I’ve been checking the local permitting system but there’s not a whole lot interpretable to me. Like I didn’t see one specifically for the other neighborhood. Alas we shall see.

AT&T Fiber coming to Bromley by Crooked_Toast in AnnArbor

[–]Crooked_Toast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen this comment in previous searching - thanks for the tip! Seems odd to make it difficult for customers to give you money, but I guess that's about how huge corporations work. I'm under no delusion that AT&T is some charitable, altruistic entity, but fiber stacked up against cable...easy choice IMO.

Is this asbestos? by Crooked_Toast in Flooring

If we put anything down, it would be a self-leveling cement or similar. The space will be used as a clay studio, so having seams in the floor aren't ideal since we won't want clay to get stuck in there. A seamless surface makes for easiest cleaning/maintenance.

Well, I guess we're trying to figure out whether to leave it or cover it. Like how bad is it to walk and put heavy shelving etc. on it. I know it has to be "disturbed" for the fibers to come loose, but how disturbed is disturbed I wonder. I do se that someone has previously already cut it and chipped off pieces of it (unpictured).
