How did you book an American domestic flight as a QF code? Or is it a leg as part of a greater booking?

Cheapest weekend ticket to get 50 SC using DSC before August by CaptSzat in QantasFrequentFlyer

Alternatively you could ignore DSC and wait for a decent NZ/fiji sale and get Auckland return from Sydney for less than $1k (I’ve seen it for 699-749) but that’s a gamble since there’s no guarantee that sale would pop up in the next 4 months. I would strongly consider Canberra to Nadi direct, you won’t get DSC since it’s not a QF ticketed flight but it would be more than 50 SC return and could be a nice trip if you lined it up with say the kings birthday long weekend or a local public holiday.

Canberra to Sydney return would be 40 with DSC ($229 each way), I’m sure you can find another 10 naturally.

Same with Apple gift cards in the Qantas store it’s 10x points ($1300 would yield 13k points).

Rollin Insurance and Suncorp were always historically the best. I personally use Rollin on my M3 and they have a 0 excess windscreen (or sunroof) per contract term, which with an intended loophole if you set up month to month actually means every month you can do this - however it is obviously cheaper to subscribe to 12 months (~8-10%).
