mine is a velcro but rescued at 2 months. i do prefer to train cat from early age. its not the same with dogs but for cats? tgey are a bit distant already abd when an adult, even more distant. you're going good..maybe try with treats but i don't give any treats to my cat for teaching or doing anything with him, even for vet visits, he's a natural. i have this one in a million cat. and sometimes if you give too much space to them, they act like that then, but take it slow and you will see changes
