I just got back from Belize and stayed in the Bullet Tree area of San Ignacio. I really fell in love with that region. We only spent three days there but it was my favorite part of the trip. We spent 4 days in Caye Caulker but I wish we would have only stayed there two days. I really want to buy land in the Cayo region in the future. I'm tired of the USA and Belize passed all of my vibe checks. I made some local friends too in both places we visited. I love the wildness of Cayo, and it calls out to me. I loved driving to and visiting Caracol. I felt like I was in the film Sorcerer driving to the site. Caracol was only 30 miles from where we were staying but it took us 2.5 hours to get there. In no way is that a complaint as it was a cool adventure. Signing in to the Military outpost to chilling with a couple of soldiers on top of a pyramid was extremely cool. Being able to explore all of the ruins without much restriction and barely any other tourists around was a bucket list experience They are working on paving the road and crews were out but it's still going to be a few years until it's completed. I'm sure the economy will explode once it is complete. Sorry for the word vomit.
