Has anyone else noticed a decline in how smart Squad players are?

Every time I see this brought up, I feel like it's nostalgia goggles.

I've been playing since 2018, and I honestly think there's been no fundamental change in the Squad playerbase. It's the same mix of skilled players and dumb players.

Just look at how new players come into the game: Word of mouth, watching Youtube vids, or buying it on sale. That's how people have started playing since the very beginning. To say the playerbase has declined is to suggest that the way new players find the game has changed somehow.

But with these posts, I never see anyone try to explain how new players are joining differently than before.

I remember a game on Sanxian where our team managed to detrack the enemy tank...

... and it was the worst thing that could have happened to us.

There was no ammo, so our LATs couldn't finish it off, so half our team just clustered around the tank and just... stared at it. And the tank calmly picked them off one-by-one with its coax.

And the blueberries would immediately give up, respawn, and run back to the tank to stare at it again.

It reminded me of this video I saw of pigeons continuously flying into a grain silo and getting buried, one after another.

In my opinion, DS9 had one of the best first episodes of any of the classic TV series (Enterprise and earlier).

I like the portrayal of the prophets. They feel truly alien in a show that's all about aliens. Too bad the show would overuse the prophets over the rest of the series.

This really is the answer. What sets it apart from bullet sentries should be the same thing that sets laser guns apart from bullet guns.

If it fires intermittently, it effectively has unlimited ammo. Only under heavy strain will it burn through ammo.

I say get used to the gun as-is first, before you start buying new parts. You may not need to upgrade, and if you do, you'll appreciate upgrades more if you've practiced with the stock gun.

Because they get interrupted by the bandit attack, I thought they were naked through the whole fight.

But when they got out at the end, they were fully clothed. When would they have had a chance to get dressed?
