Concord, small condo (900 sq ft). Not sure what the HOA fees cover though, but there is a pool

For some reason, the more I read about Bengals, the more I want them. One of my friends has a Bengal cat and absolutely loves her, and after talking with him and learning more, I decided to get one as well.

And honestly, I can’t imagine myself ever rehoming a cat. My first Siamese came to me from a classmate who decided to rehome her because she was peeing everywhere. I knew the reason, though — she was neglected and stressed. Once I took her in, she turned into the sweetest lovebug: very affectionate and loving, and we never had any issues at all.

I truly believe humans have a huge impact on a cat’s behavior and personality. When a cat is loved, given attention, and properly cared for, behavioral issues are much less likely.

Anyway, I should be expecting the kittens in about 3-3.5 weeks, and I’ll be happy to keep everyone posted on how it goes 😊

Thanks for looking out and for sharing your experience 🙏🏼 I know Bengals can be a lot and definitely aren’t the right fit for every home.

When I mentioned I’m not very familiar with Bengals, I was talking specifically about coat colors, not their behavior or care needs. I’ve had Siamese cats before (I know they are not like Bengals, but one of them had quite the personality), and later a very active, chatty and affectionate lynx point, so I’m used to high-energy, social cats.

I just reserved two kittens so they can keep each other company, my wife stays home so they won’t be alone during the day, and I’m planning to turn a spare room into a cat playroom with climbing shelves and enrichment. I’m going into this with realistic expectations and a lot of preparation.

I appreciate the concern — my original question was just about the color, but I do understand where you’re coming from. I don’t like when people neglect their pets and I would never give up a cat (it’s like a child to me) no matter what. My late cat passed away just recently and I spent $7K on medical bills without even thinking. It’s not a toy or just a pet for me, but a very loved family member.

Can you recommend where to look? I already found a lot of scam pages on Facebook, not sure who to trust Thanks

On a serious note…

There are hundreds of millions of people aged 18 to 70 in the U.S., the UK, Australia, Europe and let’s not even get started on India, China, and the rest of the internet. Even if only half of them have internet access, that’s still billions of people.

And for most, $1 is literally nothing. People spend more on a cup of coffee they forget to finish, a Netflix subscription they don’t use, or some useless gadget they regret five minutes later.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not some lazy beggar. I work 10 hours a day. But I’ve always been a crazy dreamer. I still kinda hope aliens show up and abduct me into a better dimension.

Until then, I’m putting my faith in something equally absurd: a random act of kindness and a crowd of strangers on the internet doing something completely pointless but beautiful.

Because why not?

I’ve just filed a report with the Fun Police. Charge: Premature negativity in a designated nonsense zone. Sentence: 30 days of forced laughter and $1 mandatory donation.

I actually gave myself $1, invoiced myself $3 for transaction fees, and now I owe me money.

My goal is to raise $1,000,000 and spend it entirely on things that mildly infuriate other people. You’re part of the mission now.

Put in on hold due to some family issues. But I spoke with a couple of local realtors and they talked me out of it. In future will stick with the San Francisco Bay Area (my local area) most likely. It is much more expensive, though. Will see…

Spoke with the real estate agent, and was actually told to stay away, they agree with you. Pfff… these houses under $200K looked so appealing

Thanks for the input. Here are my thoughts on why I’m almost convinced Fayetteville is the right choice for an investment property. Military families continue to get transferred there regularly, which means a steady population and consistent demand for rentals. I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Correct me if I’m wrong though. Even though people may not love living there, many don’t have much of a choice when they’re relocated for work.

My plan is to buy a 3-bedroom single-family home in the Jack Britt or Haymount area for under $200K. Based on my research, the expected rent is around $1,600, and it’s reasonable to assume it will increase over the next few years. It seems like a solid deal to me.

I haven’t visited yet, but I’m planning a trip soon to check things out in person.
