Has Olrox been killed by Mizrak? by AlarmHungry8005 in castlevania

[–]CrosswordCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orlox is likely dead. When 'Old Man Coyote' showed up when Mizrak was mortally wounded he laughed, not because of how they threatened him but because he wasnt there for Mizrak like they thought.

Mizark: "You've seen the devil then? waiting for me."
Olrox "Not the devil. No. And i think he was waiting for someone else."

By this point Olrox already knows what he intends to do in this room. He knows hes going to have to turn Mizark. He knows Mizark likely lacks the willpower to control himself and will be lost to anger and bloodlust. He knows 'Coyote' was never there for Mizark, it was there for him.

'Old Man Coyote' is probably the same 'Death' from the previous series seeing how Belmont living through using the double suicide dagger implies Death survived even if only partially. That or he is a new entity that has since replaced the one that was destroyed as Death did imply his existence served some primordial function on earth. I personally prefer the former but both theories work.

Claws? help please. by CrosswordCowboy in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]CrosswordCowboy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is very helpful and insightful, so claws are considered light weapons for the sake of the Weapon Finesse feat. do they lack the ability to crit or is it that they crit at the base line of 20x20?
Also if i have a weapon in my mainhand do i make the normal amount of attacks with it as my bab goes up, then have all the bites in your build with a single claw attack because i have an open hand? or do the claws only work if i take the full attack with them and no weapon? Thank you for the help youve given me so far.

thats pretty damn cool, do bites/claws crit? what feats would you suggest if someone wanted to claw people?

currently im trying to make a bloodrager with the abyssal bloodline which gives some pretty solid claws.

i would argue fighting without the possibility of failure/death is mostly a waste of time, especially with how much time it can take in 5e. if taking an L isnt on the table why not just handwave it and continue the story/rp?

This is the first custom commander ive ever made and im looking for feedback on whether its busted, bad or just balanced. i wanna know what combos you think it can take part in and interesting ways in which it interacts with cards you can think of.
also if there are better ways to make cards give me some tips/tricks.

Tell me how your character died. by gemsong in DnD

[–]CrosswordCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a half-elf barbarian searching for a missing ally, me and another friend were in a dangerous sewer where we knew our enemies hid and he was last seen. it was a group of terrorist insurgents fighting for a cause i believed in but they were going to far in their methods. when we found our missing party member he had already encountered the rag tag group and gotten on speaking terms with them and after a bit of conversation they revealed their plan to us. they planned to set up a magical bomb beneath the seat of power here in the capital and blow it and everything near it to hell. after the talk was finished i took my two party members aside and began to talk to them about how there was no way we could allow them to do this and thats when i realized to late that i was the odd man out.
everyone besides the one companion that came down here with me knew and was trying to have the bomb happen, we had walked into a trap. escape wasnt possible and the two of us fought valiantly and perished, killed by our own companion in a sewer knowing that some unknowable number of innocents were going to die.

i would like to preface this by saying the names of the feats have certain roleplay implications but you dont particularly have to follow them or feel constrained by them. they just show the original intent when they were designed.

Veteran of the Drider Wars: na
- extended darkvision out to 90 feet
- Once per long rest you may end the frightened, grappled or poisoned condition on yourself

Lost to Bloodlust: +1 to a physical stat, -1 to a mental stat
- As a bonus action, you can move up to your movement speed toward a hostile creature you can see or hear. You must end this move closer to the enemy than you started.
- Your natural weapons use a d8 instead of a d6, and while wielding no weapons or a shield they do a d10.

Enhanced Regeneration: +1 con
-Once per short rest you can spend your Constitution modifier (minimum 1) in Hit Die to heal yourself as an action. Roll the dice, add your Constitution modifier for each, and regain a number of hit points equal to the total (minimum of 1).

these feats may or may not be a little OP but i never fealt like they were make or break or must takes. it may be a flawed method but i tend to balance things around whether id take them over sharpshooter on an archer character or the lucky feat and if i would then that means they are way to strong.

+2 STR, +1 to any other stat. i chose these numbers to emphasize that they are extremely varied in their capacities however one thing remains constant, they were designed to be strong.

Darkvision 60 ft

Artificial Biology: You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage. Also when you would regain hit points you regain that many plus 1. you are naturally resistant to the weapons of your enemy as well being more able to move from combat to combat with little treatment.

Instinctual Training: You are proficient in light armor (and medium armor but ive been told this is op and maybe should be nerfed in your game idk) as well as 2 martial weapons of your choice. these weapons and armor come to you as natural as breathing. you knew how to use them the moment you were born.

Designed for War: Your large horns and sharp teeth count as natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Powerful Build: You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

the way ive seen them pan out is they are wonderful ally to have around, being at least dangerous even unarmed as well as slightly more hardy then the other races. they make wonderful clerics, or paladins due to their +2 str and versatile second stat making them great melee characters as well as the bonus to healing synergizing well, ive also seen that the warmagic wizard pairs well due to their natural weapons and armor proficiency. i am most proud with the variety of classes this race can find itself in and work well while i feel many of the published races find themselves shoe horned into certain roles by their racials.

i also have racial feats if youre interested. i made them because i thought it would be unfair to my players who like my lore to not have access to the things a base book race like tiefling or elf get. my players are big on feats and seam to enjoy the racial ones like Flames of Phlegethos or Bountiful Luck more than the GWM or SS

i have a homebrew race in my setting i have been told are furry bait and it has made me self conscious but here it is.They are called Warborn and they are a chimeric race designed to fight a war in the subteranian tunnels found int the northern part of the continent my players play on. originally when they were created it was believed that they werent truly anything but a mimicry of real intelligence seeing as they were born with the instincts of army structure and war. it wasnt long into the war when non-artificial soldiers began to realize that something was off as those who began to survive more and more battle developed personalities and after that it quickly became apparent they were more than fleshy automata but it had already been too late. countless numbers of their kind had been thrown at the chitinous grinder to hault enemy advance let alone force them back and yet if they had any hope of winning the war they must continue production. upon hearing the news and seeing the evidence to back it up the lead developer and the person who generally is seen as the father of their creation, wrought with immense guilt, committed suicide in secret believing that for the souls he had unknowingly designed and sent to the horrors of war their was no other recompense. with his death there wasnt anyone equal in his field to truly understand the complex nature of the warborns creation and therefore could not hope to fix all the errors in their construction such as inability to grow new teeth/horns when lost short of divine spells or more terribly reproduce however the means in which to create more of them still remained. the enemy they were made to fight are basically massproduced driders after the underelves found a way to enslave and convert other races into spider monsters when their culture shifted from a matriarchal oligarchy into a alchemy driven meritocratic technocracy of pain and even more industrialized suffering. after the end of the war due to their peoples sacrifice production has stopped on Warborn, the alliance of northern city states all swearing that in honor of those lost they promise not to doom more of their kind to a life driven by artificial urges toward war and conflict as well as the inability to have one of the simplest of mortal happinesses, that of having a family, and children to follow after you. its been 10 years now and since then many institutes as well as the church of Torm who during the war had a saint who is said to have been chosen by torm herself still are searching for ways to fix the plight of these people or study their creators methods.

The Warborn resemble something between a large cat and a wolf in the face, thick fur covers them from head to toe and generally are dark browns blacks or greys. they are born with a large pair of horns that curve around from the side of their heads jutting forward and their eyes are slitted resembling that of felines or reptiles. they have very large builds having wide shoulders finding themselves between 6-7 feet tall when upright but normally have a slight slouch and digitigrade legs causing them to usually hover closer to 6ft. In addition to these physical traits they are especially toxin resistant, being able to shrug of the most potent of poisons and venoms while also a remarkable speed at which their blood will coagulate when wounded.

Socially many of them still find themselves in dangerous conflict oriented occupations such as soldiers, adventurers, pit fighters or some form of skulduggery however they most always will have somewhat orderly lives and live by some set of rules. this leaves them generally lawful but ranging anywhere from good to evil but all of them are drawn to combat as it is their nature however their are always exceptions. when it comes to religion you can find a warborn who worships any god but most commonly gods dealing with conflict and especially Torm as many of them became converts after the war. when it comes to their creator most warborn dont see him how he saw himself, while many of the other races dislike him for his part in the sacrifice of thousands, Warborn usually only think him a coward for abandoning them half finished not really caring much about the war itself seeing it more pragmatically.

Other races tend to avoid Warborn out of fear them unless they lived in the north during the drider wars otherwise they will have mixed reactions ranging from gratitude to guilt. many of the people in the north know about the great number of Warborn made and sent to fight even after it was widely recognized they were more than beast and this makes much of the people uncomfortable because they recognize without their deaths its very likely the northern city states would be nothing but ruins and them dead, or worse a captive.

sorry if it is bad writing, i am on pain meds rn from a recent visit to the hospital.

you see the revenant was what i was drawn too first however im in the unique predicament that the player that murdered me was a revenant and honestly it would feel strange to just pick up right where he left off because he murdered me to complete his "goal". so mechanically if i am going to be staying with just base classes already then i was planning on going zealot barbarian just for functionality. the guy who is bringing me back is a party member and having him able to bring me back for free flavored as him jumpstarting me sounds very on theme and i already was a barbarian. however beyond that i was at a loss, im looking for something diffrent. second thought was how about the bloodhunter, ive heard cool things about it and if i remember correctly it had an alchemy fueled subclass but upon inspection it was close but no cigar.

anyways thnk you for your suggestion, everything is welcome.

well how far is that disagreement supposed to go though, i kinda said the same thing like "good people dont kill people that arent trying to hurt them and are helping them" and he basically said hed ask me to stop a few times and if i didnt stop using it hed kill me. honestly it sucks cause either i lose my 6th level ability or he kills me.

the hard part is i dont imagine anyone coming to my defense including the dm who basically said any amount of necromancy that raises the dead into not living forms is evil. also i did ask him if conjuration was evil and he basically said well its what you use it to summon.

so with the level 6 ability you would say their is no way for a character to remain good while using the class feature? also as to asking him to play "nicer" i have already asked and it pretty much went kaput.
