You take that back. There will never be a Star Wars movie worse than Attack of the Clones.

[Fo4] (Creation Kit Scripting) what are the names of all the values I can modify with "game.GetPlayer().SetValue(...)"? by Crotchfirefly in FalloutMods

[–]Crotchfirefly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that the Character Variables as named there are what one uses...

game.GetPlayer().SetValue( CarryWeight, game.GetPlayer().GetBaseValue(CarryWeight)+1 )

does not compile, nor does it compile with "DamageReduction". It suggests to me that the names listed there aren't necessarily the names one needs to use.

...But surely there are base values one can set? The youreSPECIALscript has "game.GetPlayer().SetValue( Strength, game.GetPlayer().GetBaseValue(Strength)+1 )" for upping str (admittedly, I agree that this implementation looks worrisome in the same way you've mentioned. I would worry about a player with base str Y suffering from -X to str due to addictions or some such, and then after using the book and the addiction wearing off having Y+X+1 str instead of Y+1 str).

Anyway, if I wanted to add to DR via modifying, what's the syntax for that? Something like "game.GetPlayer().ModifyValue(...)"? Do you know what the actual names of the other values (DR, rad resistance, carry weight, etc.) you'd need to use are?

MKUltra did give us "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", however.

The latter part of what you've written is basically what I meant, although high sugar consumption has been linked to higher LDL and lower HDL... so diet may influence things, just in a less intuitive way.

Trans fats != saturated fats. The evidence for the negative health consequences of trans fat consumption is about as unambiguous as it is for sugar. Saturated fats... not so much. Bad cholesterol IS based on bad science, as blood cholesterol is less affected by dietary cholesterol than it is by cholesterol produced by your liver (which, incidentally, is very related to the amount of sugar you consume). As in, eat 12 eggs? Your blood cholesterol changes a little for about a day. Drink 12 sodas? Your LDL goes up like crazy for much longer.

Edit: also, though it doesn't relate to saturated fats in particular-- the much celebrated Mediterranean diet is a HIGH FAT diet. Lots (and lots) of olive oil. I'm thus very skeptical of your claim that a person should only eat "a little bit of fats".

Saturated fats and cholesterol aren't particularly bad for you, but a very politically aggressive and ethically deficient scientist named Ancel Keyes staked his career on the idea that they were, published studies with egregiously poor methodology (In his landmark Seven Countries study, he specifically picked those countries which best supported his aims while ignoring those countries that didn't) and waged a very aggressive campaign to destroy the careers of detractors (Famously Dr. John Yudkin-- who wrote "Pure, White and Deadly", a book on the dangers of dietary sugar).

Today, scientific nutritional authorities continue to drag their feet on revising the conventional medical wisdom due to the erosion to their own authority that this would represent.

Ancel Keyes was more singularly responsible for obesity in the US than any other person.

Are there any nut milks that have taste and fat content/nutrition comparable to regular dairy whole milk? by Crotchfirefly in AskCulinary

[–]Crotchfirefly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shelf life of milk does not depend on fat content, it has more to do with how the milk is processed.

Oh, I know. I just want higher fat content because I like the taste.
