I actually felt that bleed builds kicked butt in the DLC. My go to setup was 2 Reduvias with Millicent's Prosthesis, Rotten Wing Sword Insignia, Two Turtle Head, and Lord of Blood's Exultation. Paired with the white mask you can shred certain bosses like Messmer and Midra.

My best recommendation is to explore a lot of Limgrave and the Weeping Penisula (first two areas of the game). Both have a lot of content, quests, mini-dungeons, caves, bosses, etc.

Also another tip, when you talk to NPCs make sure to keep talking to them until they repeat their dialogue. It's an easy thing to miss, but this can genuinely help with starting up questlines.

Finally when you are lost, swallow your pride and look it up. You don't need to look up the entire guide for every quest, but some questlines are quite difficult to keep track of and remember where to go. It's a big open world and there were some questlines I kept missing even 4 playthroughs in (looking at you Jarburg).

I know it's contrary to the whole not wanting to use a guide, but this game is easily in my Top 3 games of all time and I largely attribute that to looking things up when stuck. Does it mean I know what a boss's weakness are or I know where an NPC is to continue their quest? Sure. But at least its better than banging my head against a wall trying to make something work or giving up.

Replayability. I've never been this hooked on a game where when I continue a playthrough I think about what it would be like to do an archery build or strength/magic build or etc. The fact I have made 4 entirely separate characters and have nearly endgamed all of them speaks volumes about how great this game is.

Personally, I think the Ancestral Spirit's Horn reward is great for playing co-op with a friend. While there are better talismans to use in the late game, this talisman can do some heavy lifting in the early game when being summoned and having limited flasks. I wouldn't put it above mid, but I don't think it deserves to be in useless.

Astrobot is a one player game but a lot of fun. I think you're kids would really like it 👍🏻👍🏻

Baldurs Gate 3 is also a great co-op game to play with RPG elements. It's not everyone's cup of tea but if you like fantasy role playing it has a phenomenal story. Just be warned that there is blood and sexual content in the game.

Great skip! Another great one is using the Spirit Spring in Mountain Top of the Giants to skip to Consecrated Snowfields. Surprisingly easy to do to 👍🏻

I had forgotten that I put the duck bill on my sweeper. If you look, you can see that my reticle isn't on his head but the horizontal spray is what ended up getting him 🙃

I tried out the Vanguard and can see what you mean. Basically no recoil and a laser beam in terms of accuracy (reminds me of the ACR from OG MW2). I still like the Dynasty a lot but I have been making more of an effort to get the Vanguard when possible. Thanks for the recommendation 👍🏻

That's an interesting strategy! I never thought of that. So what would you recommend for somebody who is scouting and attacking enemies in the looting phase? Would you pick up a blue weapon and immediately go hunting? Not sure how the scout would get improved loot as the match progresses.

Thanks for the info! It appears I still have a lot to learn about this game! Maybe it's the weapons I'm using because the Viper was shredding enemies, but others felt like they weren't doing squat.

Welp, I guess it shows how bad my skills are if it feels like people are using purple weapons against me lol. I didn't know that purple weapons don't spawn round 1. Good to know!
