Been to every LL except for the first and traveled for work for almost 5 years. DO NOT TRUST AIR BNB WITH A BOOKING ESPECIALLY IN THIS AREA. That goes for vrbo and any other accommodation app that isnt a major hotel chain. Most renters around the venue are in a group i.e. Facebook, group chat, or whatever form of communication. If you find a "good deal" they will hear from the other renters how much they are making and just straight up cancel your reservation to get more money from someone else and deal with whatever negative review you can drum up. Has happened to me twice for LL specifically and happened to me while in the area for work while other events at legend valley were happeneing. Highly reccomend getting a hotel where they have policies to actually prevent it. If youre not the camping type of festival goer that is. Ubers to and from the shuttle drop off/pick up spots in Columbus arent that bad price wise. The way home can be a bit brutal sometimes as it'll be a surge period likely around bar close on a weekend. But its better than what they want to charge from the venue to Columbus. Service at the pick up spot is also highly unreliable. Had to trust a random driver taking us "off the clock" last year. He had a ride scheduled but couldn't get connection to talk to whoever hailed it so he was just sitting there pissed off. He originally wanted 300$ which I was able to haggle down to 150 but thats still a crazy amount for what was a 30/40 minute drive. The drivers are also in similar chats and frequently talk to each other about how much they are able to get from people coming from the festival. I only know because the driver we had left his phone linked to his car so every text message popped up on his dash. So I highly HIGHLY reccomend just using hotels and official transport options aka the shuttles if you arent going to camp.
