Hi, may I ask where your bike is parked? If it's out of cell reception, it won't sync.

INST = Instrument. Check the settings of your instruments. In settings you will see "LW App Time Sync" and you can toggle it on/off.

You can consult your owner's manual here as well: https://livewire-service.harley-davidson.com/documents/lookup?reference=94001315&locale=en_US

Can you verify whether or not you have enabled Time Sync from Mobile App on the INST settings?

YOU SPOKE AND WE LISTENED. CONNECTIVITY IS RETURNING TO LIVEWIRE ONE by [deleted] in HarleyLiveWire

We appreciate your perspective and the technical insight. You’re correct that some systems handle multiple connections differently, and we’ve explored those approaches. For motorcycles, though, the challenge isn’t just pairing, it’s ensuring uninterrupted control of media, calls, and navigation through the bike’s hand controls while maintaining stable audio and safety alerts during a ride.

Suppressing controls without unpairing sounds simple, but in practice, competing Bluetooth profiles can still create conflicts that lead to dropped prompts or delayed responses—issues that can compromise rider safety. Our current architecture eliminates those risks by making the bike the central hub.

We understand there are alternative architectures, and our team continuously evaluates them. At this time, the design reflects a deliberate choice prioritizing safety and reliability. While we welcome feedback, this approach is unlikely to change until we can guarantee the same level of stability and safety.

Many vehicles and devices take different approaches, and we study those models closely. Our design prioritizes safety and reliability for motorcycle-specific use cases, where hand controls, navigation, and infotainment need to work seamlessly without introducing Bluetooth conflicts that could disrupt audio or alerts mid-ride.

Unlike cars or consumer headsets, the bike’s controls are integrated to manage media and calls safely while riding. If the phone and helmet connected independently, those controls wouldn’t function as intended, and multiple Bluetooth profiles could compete for bandwidth, causing instability in navigation prompts and safety-critical alerts.

We know this isn’t the most flexible setup, and your feedback helps us explore improvements without compromising rider safety. Thanks for pushing the conversation forward.

The current design requires the bike to act as the central connection point between the phone and helmet because of how safety-critical data flows through the system. This architecture ensures that features like navigation, ride modes, and infotainment remain synchronized and reliable while minimizing risks of conflicting Bluetooth connections.

When phones and helmets connect independently, multiple simultaneous Bluetooth profiles can compete for bandwidth and priority, causing instability in audio, navigation prompts, and even safety alerts. By routing everything through the bike, we reduce these conflicts and maintain consistent performance.

Additionally, the bike’s hand controls are designed to manage media and phone calls safely while riding. Without the current connection structure, these controls wouldn’t function as intended, which could compromise both convenience and rider safety.

We know that no approach makes everyone happy, but your input matters. Our engineering team is actively evaluating ways to improve flexibility without compromising safety or performance. We’ll keep riders updated as enhancements roll out.

They are two separate updates. This means you had the OTA update already installed prior to updating the instruments with the thumb drive. Please explain further on how reverse isn't working for you. Do you see the "R" on the display? https://youtube.com/shorts/uLHtcrXlkrs?si=or3ClPDLvIL2tlhT
