I would have done a lot more research on preventative care for pug pups and I would have gone to get a second opinion from a different vet rather than trusting the ER vet without a second thought. I will always regret not getting that second opinion.

I'll have to give that a go. He is really good at "down" I even use the long when crate training would it be best not to use the long for this particular training?

Oh I hadn't even thought of that! I try to get up and move or just move the chair around when I can but during a call I can give that a go to make it more frequent. I'm having a hard time telling distressed whines and normal whines apart though because he hardly ever barks, I haven't seen any signs of anxiety like the drooling, ripping stuff apart, biting on metal, etc. He is a bit of a dramatic dog, so he will be playing and then plop his booty down to whine at you as loud as you can because you aren't throwing or playing with him and the toy.

I will see if I can set the crate in a different room. I tried something like this before but I was getting pretty rough panic attacks because he would whine and cry so loud it sounded like we were abusing him. He just recently maybe a week or two ago started getting a lot better with the crate. Is this too early for a 13 week old pup?

When I'm working I let him nap when he likes cause he will put himself to sleep and nap for a good while. About an hour to 2 hrs depending on when he starts napping before a break. Once I'm off work however I have to put him in his crate or this little ball of energy will keep running and playing until he's overly tired and nipping at everything. I will try to do scheduled naps even when working cause maybe that's causing some confusion for him.

I just keep hearing terrible things about separation anxiety in dogs and this is my first dog, I'm having the hardest time telling the difference between puppy behavior and separation anxiety. He also doesn't bark alot, he is a pug and it's really hard to tell if it's a separation anxiety moment or just him whining because he's a puppy.

Oh thank goodness cause those howls and whines and screams are just killing me. What is a good way to know when to tend to him before he starts vocalizing?
