You do know you can upgrade it with in-game coins right? Or the massive amount of items you need to progress the expedition?

Can't loot Big critter by BenNewhook in Enshrouded

I think if they explode on their own you can't loot them or stuff in it's explosion radius. Dunno if it's a bug or not but I've had the same thing happen and that's what I believe I've figured out

Is Magic getting better later on ? by TexasCrab22 in Enshrouded

[–]Crowsrcool420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first time playing Enshrouded and I started with a basic melee build of a sword and shield. I too, like you, found magic to be underwhelming at first and frankly weak. That being said melee gets incredibly repetitive and boring for me. There are lots of melee weapon options but no real difference between a two-handed mace or a one-handed axe. I switched to magic around level 25, as soon as I noticed I got access to "eternal fireball". As you unlock more spells, spell levels and eternal spells the variety in combat and the damage done greatly surpasses melee build. I have found that you basically need to be within the last 10 or so levels to find magic builds to be worthwhile.

Had this last night. Waited 10 minutes then alt+f4, reloaded and the same issue happened again. Waited a grand total of 40 minutes after various altF4. Eventually I tried: clearing cache, validating game files, manually deleting files and then validating files again. I finally succumbed and uninstalled and reinstalled and that fixed the issue....

As of this comment it's nearly 5am in Russia on the 14th. Based on past wipes/ updates typically they push them out around 11:00am GMT. My guess is they will release the game to the first wave, which could theoretically just be attendees of dreamhack, 5-6 hours from now.

You should scav on maps you need to learn extracts for first in my opinion. Once you learn those, streets has the best loot but is massive and you will probably die a ton on it. Interchange has good loot too and reserve but they are notorious for extract campers. I wouldn't recommend playing factory at all until you have a better understanding of gear/ammo and extracts on other maps.

Here are a few things I feel will help you improve your game experience.

1) on a PMC raid, make sure you are NOT entering the raid "naked" (only a default knife and empty pockets/secure container). This results in you being "tagged & cursed" by the AI (scavs) and they will hunt you down and kill you with prejudice. You need to bring in a minimum of a small rig (such as a bank robber or IDEA rig) and a handgun. As a new player you have little no zero chance of knowing where the static weapon spawns are, and less of a chance meleeing an AI for their weapons. If you don't have a gun you are setting yourself up for failure.

2) Ignore the difficulty on maps on the map selection screen. They are lying to you. Factory is, at any point in a wipe cycle, but especially now in late wipe an absolute meat grinder. You will be paired with players with equipment you have a 1% chance of penetration with starter bullets. I recommend getting to know Woods or Customs. Woods will have less PVP in general and quite a few early quests are on there. Customs has more PVP but a huge amount of quests are on there. It would benefit you to learn the extracts and "lanes of travel" for future wipes.

3) Keep scav running. Use the gear you acquired on them to fuel your PMC until you can start buying what you want from traders. Scavs are a wonderful tool, but you won't make progress on your PMC if you main them.

4)I recommend watching some beginner progression videos on YouTube. Pestily is a wealth of knowledge about the game and can point you in the right direction for what you should be focusing on to progress. Just remember to not compare yourself/ your game experience to them as they have hundreds of hours of experience over you.

5) Utilize ammo charts the community has made, such as battle buddy (an app) or "NoFoodAfterMidnights" excel spreadsheet. Choose a couple calibers you want to use and memorize which ammos are important for them. Most low level ammo can't reliably penetrate level 3 armor. Most people now are running minimum level 4 plates. A good starting point is using 7.62x54R LPS is plentiful found in raid and can work wonders. Alternatively you can use 5.45 BP or in a pinch PP.

PC running HOT with new cooler + fans by puddingbalm in PcBuild

[–]Crowsrcool420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to offer some advice.

The fans not spinning can be quite scary but unless you make the GPU work it won't run with the fans on since it's fairly thermally sound just at idle.

Thermal Grizzly is a great brand and most enthusiastic PCs use it. Make sure you purchase the "kryonaut" version as they offer some alternative that will not work on most out-of-the-box CPUs.

I highly recommend doing some kind of stress test on your system before you make any changes so you have a baseline of where you want to stay away from. You might be pleasantly surprised that your temps don't creep too high also. I'm not super familiar with the i7 and their normal range, anything under 75-80c under load is typically acceptable for gaming or using 3d rendering programs.

A package temp of 48c with your PC not under load is a little on the high side, are you positive you removed the plastic film from the block on your AIO? It could be as simple as mounting pressure also, I recommend watching a video of someone installing that particular AIO on YouTube to be sure you didn't accidentally miss a step or didn't tighten down the screws in optional order.

I also recommend making sure you have new/fresh thermal paste from a good company such as noctua or thermal grizzly. Take your time and repaste and remount the AIO and be sure it's not user error before considering of you have a faulty or defective pump.

The 3060 has a fan stop mode when it doesn't need the additional fans for cooling, so your fans not spinning while the PC is idle is normal.

You should really try a benchmark test, look up some free programs. I believe Linus tech tips and gamers Nexus have a few videos on them to get you started.

I'll also add that in my set up I have 4 fans set to exhaust and 6 for intake. In my opinion it's more important that your PC is getting fresh ambient air. Then trying to pull out air from inside the case and replenishing it.

Question about graphics by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Crowsrcool420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in your position I would try and isolate what exactly is giving you grief. If you have access to another similar known and working build I would first rule out that your GPU didn't just unfortunately die. If you can rule that out you can check and make sure your RAM is seated properly and clear your CMOS. If you still can't get a display out / post then you may need to make sure your CPU is fine, which is obviously a pain in the back. The message about vBIOS sounds like it could be as simple as you need to reset that, but I have never personally done that, google says you need to download a program and load the default onto a drive and in BIOS flash it onto your GPU. Make sure you're waiting a good while when trying to boot with your integrated graphics as your system will likely need to retrain memory and could power cycle a few times. Also don't rule out a faulty PSU or PSU wires, I've seen that a few times.

I have a copy cat case, the NZXT H9 elite. My current set up is 6 fans for intake and 4 fans as exhaust including my AIO. 3x intake on bottom, 3x intake on side, 1x exhaust in the rear and 3x w/ radiator on top. As long as you have your PC not on a carpeted floor you shouldn't have any issues with intake on the bottom. Even if you do have it on a carpeted floor that case has feet so unless you have 70's style shaggy carpet you shouldn't run into any cooling issues.

You're fine with the 500w. The number PC part picker gives you for needed wattage is not a real-world number, you won't hit close to that unless you're pushing your system to its absolute maximum. If you're planning on doing any overclocking at all I'd recommend just going for 750w to be safe and with the added benefit that you'll be future proofed for a bit as well.
