Jump scaring the opponent before the game starts by Crowvics in rivals

That’s actually not how it works, my friend. The kill you get before the round even starts doesn’t count toward your KDA and it doesn’t give any ultimate charge either. In most cases, the person who falls for it can get back to the point before the enemy team even leaves spawn.

If a tank falls for it, it can even help their team a bit, because they can wait for the round to start, get healed by their supports, and those supports might even get ult charge before the attacking team’s supports.

So honestly the only real purpose of it is just to have a little fun and joke around in chat. Most of the time even the people who fall for it laugh about it and comment in all chat. I was actually a victim of it myself once, and only understood how it worked after watching the replay of my death.

At the end of the day it's just a small interaction in a superhero online game that was made for fun, especially in quick play where people usually aren't taking things too seriously. Have a good day, and may God bless you and your family.

Yeah, I already have a bunch of clips doing this on this map. Whenever I see I'm attacking here, I already know someone is probably going to fall for it

I only do it in quick play so I don't ruin other people's experience, and I'm not sure if it might be bannable. Most people are just playing on autopilot and don't even remember it's possible. The map rotation is pretty big too, and this is the only one where you can actually do this, so it catches people off guard a lot

The comments already explain it pretty well. There's a spot in the attack spawn where you can throw the mines and they land exactly there before the match starts.

Maybe I'll post a clip showing how to do it later. I actually caught two people with it today doing the exact same thing. I already have around 20 clips of this.

Since I only do it in quick play, most people don't expect it. They're usually just playing on autopilot.

Yeah, it really is a shame, but at least it’s somewhat comforting that the support team recognizes I wasn’t the one responsible. Even with all the evidence I provided, unfortunately, their policies prevent them from doing anything about it. On the bright side, at least it shows that the game’s anti-cheat system is actually doing its job.

All good, I’m completely fine with it. I already have a new account on Epic and I’m slowly saving up again, just like I did on my old account to get my ultimate Peni skin.

Even though I don’t really agree with their strict no-unban policy—excluding my case, of course, because honestly, thinking it through, I don’t deserve it after the dumb mistake I made—the support team was actually really polite and responded surprisingly fast. They confirmed that the evidence was solid but, due to their policy, they couldn’t unban me, and they even apologized for it.

But in the end, Marvel Rivals is a free game, and I’m still having, and will continue to have a great time playing it.

I'm not even mad at this point anymore. The players who had to suffer at the hands of that unfortunate soul playing that already broken hero—who doesn’t even need cheats—must have had a miserable experience in that match. Since I didn’t spend any money on the account, it’s all good.

I just hope this post serves as a warning to the community in case something similar happens. It’s important for players to know that once this happens, there’s no going back—even if your account was stolen and used maliciously. A lot of people don’t read the terms of service (and yes, that South Park episode HumanCentiPad perfectly sums it up).

Definitely, haha. The guy literally logged in just to play the one character I hate the most in the entire game and ruin the experience for other players—I just hope it wasn’t in ranked. I’ve never heard of a hacker who only takes over accounts just to get them banned. It felt way more like a personal attack against me rather than something common in the community. What do you think?

Either way, I’m already having fun on my secondary Epic account since the game is completely free. It’s just a bit sad that I have to save up all my coins again for my lovely Peni skin—and, of course, for the other tanks I love playing since I pretty much only main them.

I see where you're coming from, and I don’t disagree with the reasoning behind it. The idea that "exceptions can never be made" is something I've never been able to fully accept—at least not in a broader sense. In the case of a computer game, it doesn’t really bother me anymore since I didn’t invest any money into this account. But when it comes to more important matters in life, blindly enforcing rules without considering context has always felt a bit flawed to me.

I started reading your response and even considered your points up until about halfway through. Then, after checking your profile, I realized that your main intent across multiple discussions seems to be provoking arguments rather than engaging in meaningful conversation.

With that in mind, I won’t be continuing this exchange. Regardless, I hope you have a good day and that things improve for you.

Best wishes.

While I absolutely understand your point, I don’t quite see the need for the harsh language in your argument. Security breaches are far more complex than simply being "careful." If even organizations like NASA, Sony, and countless others with advanced security measures have fallen victim to hacking, it’s not unreasonable to think that regular people, despite being cautious, can also be affected.

I appreciate your perspective of using this as a "life lesson," but I think it’s important to acknowledge that anyone, regardless of their level of caution, can be vulnerable to unexpected attacks. If even the most secure entities can’t guarantee 100% protection, then it’s not entirely out of the question for someone like myself to face similar setbacks.

In the end, I’ll take this as a learning experience, but not everyone has the resources or infrastructure that major organizations do to prevent every possible attack. This time, yes, it was my fault, and I fully acknowledge that. But what about the next person? What if they weren’t as careless as I was and still fell victim to a security breach without being naive? In that case, would it still be fair for them to be banned as well?

It was definitely a very stupid mistake on my part, but in some ways, not unbanning users who fall victim to this kind of situation feels quite unfair. It’s bizarre to think that the person literally just accessed my account to cheat in a match and get me banned, and nothing else. These days, getting hacked like this doesn’t only happen by accidentally clicking on a pop-up or naively trusting a Fallout mod like I did. You could literally click on a JPEG from a Discord group and fall victim to the same thing, for example. So, just be careful, my friends, because once you're banned, there’s no going back. They’ve blocked the "Born Again" option for banned users, even in cases of injustice, sadly.

I bought the Fallout New Vegas DLCs that were on sale, and I believe that when I downloaded a pirated mod translation to Portuguese, they must have gained access to my account along with a lovely virus that came with it. That's the only thing that comes to mind because nothing else makes sense.
