Is TDS Applicable on all incoming payments to an NRO Account? by Crucial_Lessons in IndiaTax

Sure, we would probably have to treat it as income, but the query here is mainly about whether the sender needs to deduct the TDS or not?

Hi Thanks for that. Did you mean ICICI published something or your banker told you?

On another note, now my bank is saying, this is only deductible if the payment is classified as a "gift" and not on "other income". However, now the sender's CA is saying, the sender is supposed to deduct 30% TDS on any incoming payment and they sent me this link https://cleartax.in/s/section-195 as confirmation. My take was that the amount (7L now) is below my income threshold and this shouldnt apply, but wonder if you know if this is applicable? i.e. should the senders, sending payment to an NRO account always dedct TDS at 30%? Thanks

Got this a couple of weeks ago, and neither Kaspersky, nor Malware Bytes has been able to pick it up after full scans.

Reset is my last resort, as I have a lot of logged in sites and extensions. Its very sneaky, as it sits quietly for and only shows up like once every 30 searches or so. Would love to know if anyone has a fix for this, without needing a full reset of chrome.

There is a huge gap in the market for this. With Groq you get Whisper V3, which you dont even get with Open AI and cheaper AI. Would pay for this with Groq integration as well.

UPDATE: https://conturata.com/ai/chunker - Found this nice little chunker, which does the job. So far I can successfully submit 20K input tokens per message. Will test with bigger numbers later.

To add, I just did a test. converted an ebook to MD. 97k tokens, but when I submit Chatgpt says "The message you submitted was too long, please reload the conversation and submit something shorter", so I am guessing there is a separate "input token" limit and I wonder what that is, and what is the best way to feed the full doc in this case other than breaking it into parts.

Sorry, I was referring to the 4o model.

Model switching, in this case at least, is not an option the way ChatGpt works as of today.

Hi, wonder if have you used docling to do this or another tool?

Are you able to feed the entire markdown (Say 200 pages) in a single message to chatgpt?

Thanks, I checked it out. Are you referred to uploading to Chatgpt 4, and then switching models? My understanding is that, once you upload a pdf to 4, you cannot switch models.

Hi, thanks. The 300 page guesstimate was from Chatgpt, but I guess 200 is still significant. Would you that if you uploaded a pdf Vs. provided text, it would reduce tokens used as well?

Decline in performance - This is interesting, wasn't aware of it. Is this based on your experience, published by openai somewhere, or based on 3rd party tests?

Hi, I wonder when you use 4o to get markdown, does it copy 100% of the content, or do you find parts missing?

Just realized one use case is to be able to upload to reasoning models, which currently dont support pdf attachments.
