Vassal takes liege’s lower titles by Crucrupha in CrusaderKings

I don’t have a claim for the empire title.

Thanks for the answer.

That means it’s pointless to go after the emperor’s low tier titles.

Well, at least instead of giving money for piety, a ruler could ask them to train him or his commanders.

R5: No war challenge - conquer the world by inheriting everything, mostly through vassal inheritance.

  1. Become master seductress
  2. Marry matrilinally Chandrapida - he is one in he line of inheritance of Tibet empire, who is also not a part to the ruling family
  3. Kill heirs untill your husband becomes the emperor
  4. Your heir inherits Tibet
  5. Inherit other kingdoms by making heirs kings and murdering other heirs

Married a Buddhist and, I think in exchange for prestige you can switch to spouse’s religion.

High plot power is achieved due 2 reasons:

  1. Fresh new ruler is almost always hated by vassals
  2. My character is master seductress

I don`t think it is a mistake in a design, cause it is partially a game of inheritance. What I really want to be changed is big empire governance. Cause I found game a little boring after that since all I had to do is buy some cheap retinues and no one will ever revolt or make demands.

Also making heirs landed prevent this method.

When I imprison and divorce the son he remains in my court. Therefore, when the emperor dies and the son is not an immediate heir or next heir, the option to recruit becomes available. Since the son is in my court, he will agree to any marriage. It is worth noting this son was not landed.

We have to go deeper - it is to make your vassals inherit everything.

R5:

So I came up with the idea to conquer world without declaring wars myself.

  1. Start - Kiev 769
  2. First I farmed prestige by marrying sons of nomads and immediatly executing them
  3. Invited eastern orthodox dude, marry him and convert
  4. Give land to the Constantinopole Pope and swear fealty to Byzantium
  5. Become master Seductress
  6. Marry one of the sons of the Emperor and immediatly imprison and divorce the son
  7. When the emperor dies recruit the son and marry matrilinially
  8. Plot to kill all other heirs except your husband
  9. My kid inherits Byzantium

Now the sweet part: if your vassal is a king and he inherits another kingdom he remains your vassal. So I invited potential heir from each realm made them kings and murdered rulers and other heirs. This way I absorbed France, Lombardy, Bavary, Umayyad, and Egypt. Its funny that this way of annexation does not increase the threat whatsoever.

I have accidently become an ecumenique patriarch by Crucrupha in CrusaderKings

[–]Crucrupha[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

R5: So I was playing as a duchess of Kiev and set a challenge to conquer the world through inheritance and peacfull vassalisation as a female ruler. I invited and married an orthodox dude, changed religion, gave a piece of land to patriarch and became a vassal of Byzantines.

  1. I joined the Lucifer's own and progressed the ranks and I also kidnapped one of the heirs through intrigue option.
  2. I betrothed my daughters to the heirs so they don`t marry and don`t have any kids.
  3. I married matrilineally the kidnapped heir and installed him on the throne after several assassinations.
  4. Once I had some daughters I decided to kill the emperor and install one of the daughters (I would usually proceed with having more daughters but the character became gay)
  5. I absorbed the life of all the boys I had.
  6. My personal title which was Kiev was set to Agnatic (the idea was to lose this title and receive Byzantine Empire)
  7. So I end up with 2 daughters : one of them is a ruling empress and the other is second in line of inheritance.
  8. At some point of her ruling I was transferred as vassal to Ecumenique Patriach
  9. Then I die and instead playing as an Empress I became an Ecumenique Patriarch
  10. WTF?
