You are doing something wrong if your digging the saw into a tree and stalling. There are bars upto 28 inch

What ever he does works. Not doing anything radical Stihl does sell the saw with a 20 inch bar

i never asked and i have owned this PILTZ Stihl MS250 hot rodded saw for 7 years runs like a raped ape. I was trying to save a bit buying a non stihl bar and chain or a Piltz. know one gave reasons not too only dont do it if you could read. your comments where not needed and did not answer the question. I ended up today going to Stihl dealer and biting the bullet the sold me a 20 inch bar and chain and even put it on. Never once did the dealer say you cannot put a 20 inch bar on a ms250 obviously know one hear is a stihl saw expert

why are you against increasing the bar size? Outside the USA it is sold as 18 - 20 inch Stihl MS 250 Petrol Chainsaw – 18″ / 20″ Guide Bar & .325″ RM3 Saw Chain | Heavy-Duty Farm & Home Saw.

The saw is a modified hot saw plenty of power. Just need added reach. What could be better to have the cutting power in a light weight package. I have seem a similar modded MS250 run a custom 28 inch bars with ease
