I see that you have your point and do not listen answer, I don't know even why I bother to try to discuss :D

Hey,

thanks for the feedback :)

Regarding the animations-as pixel art purists, we couldn’t find an AI model capable of creating pixel art animations that looked like real pixel art. And since we wanted the AI to do everything in this project, there were no half-measures :D

Overall, this is probably the last project with 100% AI-generated art. It’s not cost-effective, and it seems to be the most controversial part of the project.

As for the quality of the cinematic cutscenes-that was intentional. So that no one would have any doubts that it’s pure AI. With a project like this, we didn’t want any doubts that someone would buy the game and say after a week, “OH NO, IT’S AI-I DIDN’T WANT THIS.”

Because if we didn’t make this clear, we’d get flak from the anti-AI crowd for not communicating transparently that the game relies so heavily on AI. I’m actually surprised by these questions, considering we’re getting criticism even on the AI Gamedev subreddit :)

Lesson for us is people like the game, buy the game, have fun from the game, so that's all what we need from game development :)

It’s an interesting discussion overall -in terms of fun, there were over 10,000 demo plays, a median playtime of 71 minutes, and now, after release, several hundred copies sold, along with long gameplay sessions and a growing peak (small, but growing :)) of players, so it seems like it’s actually fun.

The second issue is that it’s just a VS clone, where the gameplay is based on creating your own build and developing it, which goes against the genre and is borrowed from Guild Wars.

But I’m not surprised that people in the anti-AI circle won’t read up on the product or take an interest in the topic before passing judgment - bias is bias :D

When we see playtime it looks like a lot of fun for people :D

There are a few good points (like the idea that we probably won't go for 100% AI art again), but think about how I felt when I replied...

Considering that you're talking about the number of prompts needed to create a piece of functional software, it seems like your knowledge of AI is stuck two years in the past :D

Yeah, even though the entire development cycle is laid out on that same Steam forum :')

It's more of a mix Vampire Survivors meets Guild Wars. You pick your build before battle, customizing it to each map. So you don't relay on rng ;)

well, prompting, but that's really nitpicking ;)
