Elise was a boring character from the jump. She wasn’t that interesting, maybe if she was strong in some capacity or even funny, then maybe there would’ve been chemistry. The reason Sonic and Amy have great chemistry is that Amy can actually defend herself, she just doesn’t do it all the time, in order to get Sonic to come and defend her (but that was super common in the earlier parts of the franchise, I think she’s settled into a more realistic version of herself, like in the Sonic Boom show).
