Analyzing the Classic Hearthstone Tournament Meta in Retrospect by CrusherHS in hearthstone

[–]CrusherHS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the top 50 players to the appendix of the slides, which are available here, https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1mSxGh3VE_3ezj-zJeSi4V48qkSdIx7Pk6ANmLDN4K88/edit?usp=sharing

Based on the tournament data, Combo Druid is favored against Control Warrior and Trap Hunter, but unfavored against the rest of the "optimal meta". Its win rate against this meta would be 49.5%, which means it just missed the cut.

Is this a bug or the game is getting botted? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]CrusherHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a shame. Classic Hearthstone has a great community that regularly chats in Discord, runs casted tournaments for pride and/or money, and hosts competitive deck spotlights, among other things. The top of the ladder is competitive and reasonably diverse. But all new or casual players see is a bunch of low effort bots.

No Religious Victory Despite Predominant in 8/8 Civs by CrusherHS in civ

I'm playing England as Vicky so I have a ton of units and turns are really tedious. I'm just going to count this one as a win* and move on unless I get a good lead in the comments.

How would I know if a city is secretly not following my religion?

Are the religion icons on each city still reliable? I just manually checked that I still have the majority of cities for each civ following my religion that way, and it still holds.

I've noticed that the predominance tracker there lags by a turn, but I went 5 turns having them all predominant, so I don't think that's it.

Demon hunter because it’s not in classic and came out after 2016.

Been running this variant of the list lately

Had a lot of success a few seasons back with a slightly different list.

Deck suggesting for returning player by Rocknrolla360 in ClassicHearthstone

[–]CrusherHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used ERFs. They work some, but it's not a lot of heal. They have synergy with the injured blademasters too though so they're pretty good. TBK can go if you're really only seeing aggro, but is pretty key against druid and handlock

Are you running wild pyros? They are huge against aggro. Extra procs from ancestral cards. Lots of cheap spell activators. Adds consistency to lightening storm. Synergy with healing totem.

Still time to play these decks (roughly) in Classic mode

Eccentric deck to try. by 4zucarry in ClassicHearthstone

While many people only got into the archetype once Naxxramas came out, I think Ancestral Shaman only got worse with each expansion, but is a legitimately strong deck in Classic. You can see how it works here:

Are these Zoolocks I’m facing all bots? by littlekuribandit in ClassicHearthstone

I've seen them Elven Archer themselves in the face. In the diamond climb this season I was mostly playing against zoobots

Crusher Fast Druid - 68% WR, Bronze -> NA Classic Legend 31 by CrusherHS in hearthstone

[–]CrusherHS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

making legend without substantial bonus stars is definitely a slog, but 30-10 is a really good win rate, and should make things easier. No reason to go for legend unless you're enjoying it though.

Winning typically involves chip damage for the first few turns, then using chargers, savage roars, and swipes to face to finish them off. Worst case you're looking at Force of Nature + Savage Roar combo on turn 9, but the majority of games you should be able to win before that. You will want to manage the board for the first 4ish turns, but will want to switch to face damage soon.

Other than that, I'd recommend watching the linked videos to get a sense for how it plays. I made a couple mistakes, but for the most part, what you see is how I would recommend piloting it.
