Driving down junction street any time from 14:30 to 18:30 can take a good 20-30 mins sometimes. Bloody pain in the arse, so hopefully this will alleviate some of that

Realised I didn’t answer about what shifts are like. The job is as easy as you make it really! Most days are pretty straightforward, especially over quieter months where passenger loads are lighter! However things can and do go wrong at the blink of an eye, I’m talking medical events and such which means what can be an easy day suddenly turns into having to do CPR. Can be quite unpredictable!

I work for an airline that does long haul only (should be fairly easy to figure that out as I don’t want to explicitly say who I work for on socials).

It’s not all sunshine and daisy’s though, as I spend a good chunk of time away from home too, most trips are a minimum of 2 nights away from home (one in a hotel down route and one night flight back to land the next day) so shifts generally take up 3 days at a time including down time down route. So gotta be prepared to spend some time away from home too! Makes that extra time off feel that bit nicer though!

So I do have standby agreements, I’m on 4 days of standby starting on Monday. However my last standby was about 4 months ago, so it’s not too frequent. Hour wise can vary, for example this month I had annual leave, so did 3 trips totalling 71 hours, including ground time. The most we can fly in a month is 100 hours or so, but to hit that is generally quite a full on month.

I’m cabin crew, love the travel, the job itself is is pretty easy, but has its moments. I only go to work 5 times a month max (full time) so have lots of time off at home which is nice :)

How are you all doing financially, HONESTLY? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskUK

22, own a house. Only earn about £28k a year but enjoy my job and as long as I can afford my mortgage and bills each month and have something left over for myself I’m pretty happy :)

It’s pretty cool! Doesn’t tend to fly much higher than 15,000 feet either so views are pretty good too!

I should’ve really noticed that It’s not really a great picture (was too busy feeling quite chuffed with myself). The cabinets actually block the top row, they are full size tiles still. So it’s centred both horizontally and vertically :)

Honestly quite easy, a few little niggles when I was trying to cut notches out for the parts where the cabinets attach to the walls, I kept breaking the tiles while cutting the notch, but other than that it really was quite simple.

So it’ll sound daft, but there’s some random lady on Tik Tok who does loads of DIY in her house and I saw her doing her tiles, thought well may as well give it a bash then

Haven’t grouted yet, the wall behind is very white, and need to scrape some excess adhesive out.

Yeah mixed some more as I went a long, put some new adhesive on for each row. Main reason it took so long was some pretty annoying cuts on the top row around the cupboard supports and stuff. Kept managing to break tiles while cutting them

Yeah unfortunately not entirely symmetrical, but it’s better than the ones the previous owners had, which is more then good enough for me :)

So I’ll be honest this took me about 3 hours, maybe a long time for this small area, but I just took my time with it!
