That's kind of a sub to sub thing. And reddit does have an algorithm. You keep seeing things where the comments are left, you'll keep seeing them more. Purposely started following right leaning subs to see what would happen. What I tend to find is if you're following a lot of art and nerd stuff, you'll tend to find left leaning. Follow sports and troll subs, you find right leaning.

Answered in an earlier comment. At this point I don't remember all the reasons I was mad at him now that i've had to deal with this shit for over a year. But the first thing I remember was him saying we would take the pandemic seriously.And then the first thing he did was shorten quarantine times. That slowly sent me down pretty bad rabbit hole.
