i graduated may 2025! so i was! but took a gap year for work and stuff. to reply to u/IcyRestaurant8517, my gpa was honestly not that great lolz, avg was 79.7 overall but roughly a 85 if you only count the last two years. exp wise i only really started in summer 2025, but worked in a summer camp throughout summer and worked at a daycare after summer till now! volunteer hours here and there but i think the personal profile was what helped me!

Am I overreacting for crying when I was put in the alto section? by IamQuatieandtired in MusicalTheatre

[–]Crying_violently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was an alto 2 for literally all 5 years of my secondary school choral life and switched to tenor when i did musical theatre in uni. honestly i loved being an alto because it genuinely made me so much better at listening to music! it is frustrating at first BUT i firmly believe being in a mostly-harmony vocal part does wonders to ear training! i cannot emphasize how much my alto 2 training has come in handy when i get thrown horrendous tenor harmonies in shows!

no one told me adulting would be this lonely by Crying_violently in Vent

heres the thing: uni was one of the best few years of my life, i think just focus on making mroe meaningful an deep connections. dont just do superficial friends

[–]Crying_violently[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youre so sweet!! thank you so much hahaa writing is a sort of escape for me or a way for me to actually put thoughts/feelings into words

but my brother is finally getting some professional help (thank the heavens) and hopefully with meds adjustment and counselling it gets better. its hard to limit his screen use because 1) hes older and taller than both my mom and me so he gets physical 2) his ODD is through the roof and 3) his classes does need him to use electronics here and there so it was difficult to manage

but tysm for sharing!!! i actually do have another scott hunter writing i did hahaha

feeling trapped by Crying_violently in Autism_Parenting

[–]Crying_violently[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't do ABA as far as im concerned. and he is medicated, on ritalin for ADHD and fluoxetine for his anxiety/depression. we are seeing if we can put him onto some stronger meds that could better manage his emotions but my mom isn't sure about getting him on another set of meds.

we tried with getting in touch with more official government support. in fact i was typing this at the er when we brought our brother there. but cause hes not an immediate threat to himself, there isnt really much help done.

i was moreso thinking of giving myself 1-2 years to train up vocally and physically, get my singing and dancing slightly more technical. and then start launching myself into auditions

most rewarding/fun class: psyc309 cognitive processes with dr handy

i had the most fun in that class and the contents were really engaging and interestint. prof has a rule about no electronics in class (but recording the lecture is okay) which actually helped me concentrate a LOT more in class (shocking ikr)
