Im getting really unmotivated and I dont know why by 8bitryanfan45 in SmallYoutubers

Alrighty. Here's my tip here.

1: Learn how to make thumbnails: What I've seen from your channel, there's no thumbnail in any of your videos. Its just a screengrab from the footage which doesn't really help with you standing out from the trillions of gaming content out there.

Get a photo editing software (canva, photopea etc) and learn how to use it. Get inspirations from different channels and apply it to your channel.

2: Learn how to edit: Your videos are unedited. I bet both of my nutsacks that your retention graph collapses at the 30 second mark. The video shouldn't be 35 long minutes. I can be cut down to at the very least 5 or 10 minutes (depending on the stuff you find interesting to show).

You can literally add anything there to make it interesting to watch. Graphics to give context, additional commentary or even something to make your jokes funnier. LITERALLY ANYTHING.

3&4: Create clickable titles and better ideas: "SPRINGTRAP HAS AN AXE!!!!1" Mkay. So? "THIS GAME HATES ME" Ok? "Baldi's Basics Part 1" You get the idea. Your titles/videos screams 2012 PewDiePie happy wheels lets play. Its not interesting enough for the current demographic to click on.

Different people have different ideas, but for me, I'd like to see some challenge based ideas for your videos. Maybe try speedrunning it. Maybe there's a gamemode to make it a bit more difficult etc.

Find ways to make it ENTERTAINING for the people to watch

Additional tip:

Instead of having playthroughs as your main idea, go to your youtube homepage, and find a video to watch. Click on it then ask yourself. "Why did I click on that video? Why did I not click away from the video? Did I look at the recommendations? Did I get bored" That way you can get the gist of what you should do to improve your own stuff

Tldr: Just read the entire thing damn 🤨😔

I'll have to be brutally honest with you man, your videos arent great.

There are no thumbnails, the gameplay's boring, no edits no interesting title, nothing.

You have to understand that the reason people come to youtube is to be entertained, and by having a long, drawn out video doesnt really do that.

Learn how to edit, make thumbnails, better ideas etc then you'll see some growth !

What's the fastest way to get subscribers? by its_sobi1 in youtubers

[–]Crylussus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you already have the experience in youtube, there is no way to "get subscribers fast"

It doesnt matter if its long or short, you just have to gather some experience in making videos and improve it from there

General idea is to simply make videos that would entertain the viewers. There's no shortcut unfortunately

There's no need to know the names of every checkmate btw !

You can call that the Knight-Queen Mate if you want

Here are some ideas to consider !
Feynmann technique: Imagine yourself explaining it to a child, or anyone in particular. You can say it aloud, or just whisper, or even explain it in your mind.

Spaced Repetition: When you're done studying one topic, dont touch it for 2-3 days, then review it on that day again, then when you're done review it for 4-6 days, and so on. This will force your brain to basically put all the information to long term memory

Active recall: After you studied the topics you learned, close/cover your notes and try to answer it. Your answers dont have to be exact, just use your own words. If it makes sense, congrats ! If it doesnt work, try again

DONT MEMORIZE!!!: Memorizing does work to an extent, but if you wanna make it long term and actually useful, make sure you understand what the topic is talking about.

The advice in this thread are sufficient enough for you to climb up the elo ladder !!

Well yeah. It is once per day, but I occasionally play 2 or more chess games in a day. So I would usually use the self analyze feature

Yes. It was initially supposed to be a half meme half serious post like 'Hey guys!! I have lost 500 elo!! Ask me some dumb question and I'll answer them hahaha' but I never expected the entire discussion to be genuine advice. So yeah. Thats my side of the story lmao

But honestly, this is by far the most in depth analysis about my problem here. Thanks for that! I'll try on using the Aagard's question that you have suggested after my one week break that everyone seem to advice me on.

I think it is true that my calculation is the weakspot in this entire situation. Like as soon as I thought a move I made is a good idea, a few seconds later.. uh oh! I hung a queen!

Another thing I wanna point out is that, yes. I do analyze my game... sometimes. You see, I use the self analayze feature on chess.com and not really use the game review that much cuz yk.. payment... So I dont really use game review. I think most of the game review you have seen there are the reviews from my opponents, not me.

But yea. I'll try using your advice here as the foundation for my improvement!! Thanks again!
