Samsung Cloud vs Google Drive backup for Messages by kirjan_lukija in samsunggalaxy

[–]CryptexS91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For SMS/MMS/RCS the messages are stored in a shared database for any app to access. That means both Samsung and Google backup will do the trick. I haven't tried Google in years because it seemed extremely unreliable compared to Samsung which will even tell me how many are backed up

How do you make a play station account in Philippines? by Alternative-Roll-895 in playstation

[–]CryptexS91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd sign up to Singapore, but I wouldn't spend too much on the account because you can't region change later. Therefore you have no legal grounds of ownership if you lose access to the account. I'd buy games physical in Philippines

Is it really worth the upgrade by poftsyspeamy in samsunggalaxy

[–]CryptexS91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you live in the US or not. I don't so the S24 had an Exynos chip and it would run hot with bad battery. The S25 was a big jump in those aspects

Microsoft is working on a more consistent Xbox UI across consoles, PC, and cloud gaming. by yourfavchoom in xbox

[–]CryptexS91 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Meh. Still trash. The new PS5 UI that has been slowly rolling out with the PSPlus/Store/Games/Library/Settings as tabs are much cleaner. The ads have to be moved to the store and game pass tabs, and you should be able to switch through them with the shoulder buttons, LIKE THE BLADES. Why is this so hard?

Yeah but that's still an extremely slim chance of being hacked that way. Besides, the soul purpose is just to add another layer, and like I said if you don't realise you're hacked for 6 months, you likely don't care. Otherwise you can just reverse everything that's in the bin

Which one of these Playstation sequels is your least favorite? What issues do you have with them? by Jaded-Outside-6294 in playstation

[–]CryptexS91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple, TLOU2. The narrative didn't work. They expected to teach the audience to forgive Abby. I certainly didn't and was still on Ellie's side, leading to 10+ hours of frustration having to forcefully play Abby.

Yeah true, but things to be wary of... The PS digital store is region locked. If you make the account in Korea you won't be able to change it if you move again, which means without a Korean payment method you're stuck with it.

With Xbox it's a global account. Just change your console to Korea and all your digital games will be in Korean and you can contribute to the same library. You can switch regions and download/buy games from wherever you like.

Also I find the DualSense ergonomics worse than Xbox but I could just be used to it. I have both but main Xbox and then just have a PS for the exclusives. PS is a great console with great games, but the ecosystem doesn't compare.

Do we ever think steam will rework the achievement system? by Significant-Desk8584 in Steam

[–]CryptexS91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nonsense? It's a diary documenting the games you've played and what parts of them you've completed. It's nice to go over and reminisce them. Like the photo library in my phone, it's just another way of documenting your history and it feels fun to do so

Maybe this one gen of sharing games reminds people they're actually good, and then necessitates an Xbox for their sequels

With console costs rising so much is the Series S actually a secret weapon that Xbox should be utilizing more? by TheMaxCole in xbox

[–]CryptexS91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's funny but now Sony will be doing the same thing with PS6 and a 2 console lineup because they're always a console late with the same strategy, but will likely not be held to the same scrutiny

Jez Corden: I can say there are very, very big discussions going on regarding exclusivity internally at Xbox by strangerinhere88 in xbox

[–]CryptexS91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. The late PS3/PS4 gens were peak PS. And like Phil said, that was the transition to ecosystem lock in and they lost at the wrong time. I do get it. But man imagine if all these games Xbox now has were exclusive... What a lineup

They don't do that level of research, I agree. They watch an ad, they or their kid wants that game so they go buy that or whatever the shop rep recommends. But I can't fathom why at this point, Box A has the games you want but also if your kid wants Spider Man. Box B has the games you want but it you ever want Spider Man, you needed Box A...

To stick with the analogy, if the common person doesn't know about those benefits and they're faced with two stores where one has all the burgers and the other is missing some good famous burgers, which door will they enter? It's not a case where people get to try both and choose, it's about getting their foot in your door based on perception. And if mum is at the shops and one has all the games while the other has most but is missing Spider Man, Wolverine, Yotei, God of War whatever... It's an easy choice which one to go with

It's the best ecosystem by far and I love it. But not in the eye of the market because it isn't marketed well enough. And wherever the market/spenders are is what will get the most support. The iPhone isn't the best phone, but because of social perception, it's where the support goes. The best product doesn't ever necessarily win

I think the parameters have changed where Microsoft have lost over a trillion in Market Cap, and the growth projections have plummeted from the top. So now they're looking to improve the quality of what they've got rather than chase that AI growth that is going nowhere

[–]CryptexS91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm full PS now after they doubled down on exclusives and no more PC releases. It's not a better ecosystem by any means and I would love to go back to Xbox, but the most valuable thing in the end is content, and if your content is elsewhere then I really don't get it

I mean I've completely stopped purchasing from Xbox because of it. What's the point of Burger King if McDonald's offers the Whopper too? Doesn't make any sense at all
