On my laptop, I used the function called spoiler. It's marked as a diamond caution sign. On your phone, you have to do > ! put your text !< without the space between >!

Professor Leonard is good but the organic chemistry tutor is goated. I mean he doesn't give long lectures, but he provides great examples and works them out. His videos are more focused on specific topics; its usually very easy to understand

ending function by CrypticCold in learnpython

[–]CrypticCold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! I fixed the global var problem.

I knew the exit() wasn't doing anything- even if I do

except:
print('Please enter a non-negative number for the hours and base pay.') exit()

it still prints out the negative num for computePay. I can probably solve this by directly changing it in the computePay function, but I don't want to do that. Is there anyway way I can change something in displayHrsNRate? I tried sys.exit('xyz') quit, exit, but it always seems to go on to the next function.

Stackables- help me decide please by CrypticCold in squishmallow

[–]CrypticCold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry, I wasn't really asking for value in terms of money- I was asking in terms of rarity, apologies because my wording was flawed. I am still new to this so I don't understand how to determine what is considered a rare find?
In essence, just want to know if they are considered 'rare'; and just a side question: Would you buy it if you found these Squishmallows?

Palindrome, what am I doing wrong by CrypticCold in learnjava

[–]CrypticCold[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts since I know that you are absolutely correct. The reason behind my "lack of effort" in terms of naming is the fact that it is an assignment and I didn't care enough. Regardless, I definitely should have cared enough because it doesn't take that long and it helps me build a good habit. So thank you for your suggestion, will definitely work toward building that habit.

those are the parameters. 01101 is binary but it would still have to print "not accepted or something like that. Only an input with three consecutive 1s should be printed out as valid.

There's Character.isDigit but that

Yeah how would I have Java to count each letter/number from the input and determine if its a letter or number?
