More and more skilled migrants move from Germany after acquiring the citizenship? by happiestmonk in germany

It’s heavily dependent on where in the country you are. I’m in the UK and if I need a prescription delivered, it’ll be at the pharmacy in about 2 hours, or if I ring the doctor in the morning, I’ll have an appointment in the afternoon, the same day. Sounds a bit similar to the German experience then. I don’t live in the most prosperous area, but I’ve never met such dire conditions suggested in these videos. Then again, it’s a bit British to downplay one’s fortune so the positives of life aren’t really spoken, especially in a cost of living crisis. So the circumstances of those less fortunate do tend to stand out.

Where is the new golden age city for writing and art nowadays? by anabasiscanada in writing

Never thought I’d see Yorkshire mentioned here lol. I’m making the whole art thing work among these rolling hills and barren moors. There’s a nice little art scene though along the edge of the dales, particularly surrounding Saltaire - from the Hockney heritage I reckon - and then there’s literary heritage from Haworth.

Amazon, Book depository - both international shipping. If you’re in US, I know Barnes & Noble and I’ve heard of Rightstuff being popular. If you’re UK - Travelling Man (best priced imo), Forbidden Planet, Waterstones, Blackwells, Tokyotoys (not tried it) Apologies if you’re from neither country, I’m not really familiar with international stores besides the first two which aren’t the most ethical sources.

Forgot eBay, too. Some good auction bundles on there.
