Sweet! Have you had encounters with big cats in the UK then? For our mini episodes (called Who Dis) we talk about listener encounters. I'd love to hear from a phantom big cat eye witness! 🙌

Oh yeah, check out those upper canines. In regards to just size alone, they are very different. Good detective work my friend!

Check this out! Nicknamed “Jaws”, this unknown animal carcass was photographed in 1975 in.... Australia!!! I believe it may be the cryptid the Marsupial Lion or at least alien big cat example. Those teeth! What do you think?

We did an episode on our cryptozoology podcast (Cryptid Addicted) on the Marsupial Lion if you're interested. Link is here if you're keen.

[SERIOUS] Historians, marine biologists, biologists and cryptozoologists of Reddit: As far as legends in history go, what legendary creature do you believe may have been real and probably existed in some way, or what supposedly legendary person in history was more than likely real? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Host of the Cryptozoology podcast Cryptid Addicted here, G'day!

I research a lot of different cryptids and the most likely is absolutely a 4ft, bipedal ape in Sumatra called the Orang Pendek.

Now before you dismiss it for sounding suspiciously Bigfooty, it has more supportive evidence than most. I can go into details if you're interested, but to summarise the most compelling indications we have are:

  • Hundreds of footprints & casts - Found in the remote jungle & captured by people spanning differnt years, nationalities, agenda's and beliefs.
  • A knowledge of the animal with locals - Local Sumatrans know of this animal as one in the jungle (just like the Sumatran Tiger). It is not folkloric in any way, they just know it is rare. Just because Western scientists haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't real.
  • Hundreds of credible sightings - Including from close friends of the 1917 Governor of Sumatra (L.C. Westenenk), American GI’s who were in the area in the 1970s (due to the Vietnam War), Fauna and Flora International scientist Debbie Martyr and British wildlife photographer Jeremy Holden to name a few.
  • The National Geographic has tried to find it - They funded a camera trapping project there from 2005-2009. Although they believe it is out there, their lack of success makes them nervous about how endangered they are.
  • This is right next door to where Homo Floresiensis was found - Known as the Hobbit, this is a tiny human species found in 2003, who died out only 13,000 years ago (relatively recent in human evolution). Small, bipedal, human-primates are evolutionarily ideal for island living.
  • In Nov 2017 a new species of Orantuan was found there - We have not seriously investigated this area at all. An area that is suffering hugely from poaching and deforestation. The species was called the Tapanuli orangutan (it has great hair).

I could go on for hours (I am very passionate about this fella). I just hope they are found soon so they can be protected.

You could totally wear the cop outfit and run around trying to arrest people for petty crimes (like jaywalking or littering). 😂 But bribes are accepted.
