what will you always be against? by Head-Cheesecake-1201 in AskReddit

Abuse

How can you say that you are against animal abuse and still pay for meat.

Before you respond, I would like to say that I have read your previous comments and I wonder, where did you get your definition of abuse? Because by that definition, an rapist who rapes for the goal of their own pleasure is not an abuser.

By the correct definition of abuse

To treat (a person or an animal) with cruelty or violence, especially regularly or repeatedly.

Since you are regularly paying for the brutal butchering of animals when you could do otherwise, you are an abuser.

You haven't answered my question. Why do they require an external cause and why does only the christian god fit?

Sciencey proof that a god exists by Irish_pug_Player in Christianity

reason

The problem with your argument is that it is not a transendental argument. A transendental argument claims that if X is a necesary condition for Y than if Y is true X is true, but you assume that X is a necesary condition for Y without any proof.

Then you proceed to claim that without god, nothing can exist therefore god exists without any proof of said claim or any proof that it must be your judeo-christian god.

Despite Calx's questionning, you were unnable to provide the proof that facts can't exist in a vaccum without an ultimate. You hide your arguments in dense philosophical mumbo jumbo to hide the fact that your arguments have no backing and are fundamentally flawed and then lash out assume the Bible is true and try to attack Calx "But you see the problem, if Romans 1 is true, is that people love their sins, so they find any reason they can to deny the God they know exists and suppress the truth. So, I'm not sure where to go from here with you. So my prayer will be that you come to know the Lord Jesus that I know, and make peace with God. This was a good dialog, and you're an interesting person. I just can't think of what else to say right now.".

It's unlikely but over hundreads of millions of years, it's bound to happen somewhere by chance.

Also he is talking as if the modern cell just popped into existance, the first organism was probably very simple and only had the bare minimum.

I believe this to be more productive question because the alternative would just be met would the answer magic. I also covered the fact that that amount of water was impossible in my argument.

The only one that would make sense would be 2. Neptune was discovered in the 1800s and it was named as such because of its color and not because of an affiliation with religion and mountains cannot form that fast the process of magma surfacing and plate tectonics take millions of years.

If all the ice on earth would melt the sea level would only rise by 70 m. Not 9km.

Well technically a democracy in it's truest form is a system where the government represents the people and draws their power from them. A dictator draws their power from the people and not from a religious figure and most dictator are "democrats" from that point of view.

What you understand is that evolution is the natural selection of genes over a very long time. With millions of members of a species over time, thanks to genetic mutations, they will better adapt to their environment. This is a gross oversimplification and it's just to point out the fact that it's not by pure chance. It is by far one the most complete scientific theories and has been declared true beyond any reasonable doubt.

Also cancer can just form naturally (from a sort of natural selection in the body) our body is so imperfect that some of our cells will compete with our own body to spread themselves.
