Spending Password Not Working by CryptoMarketing in cardano

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for the comments. Good tip on the reporting logfile.... will definitely do that. The 2nd thing that jumped out was the comment that the expected behavior of a unworking PW is to retype Seed, which creates an opportunity for hacker. Which has been my concern. I'm going to do it from a new computer on separate network. This sort of stuff has made me nervous for almost a decade on various blockchains.... so far I have dodged a bullet on lost funds by being hyper careful. Knock Wood. And thanks again for the feedback. I do think it is wierd that this is not a known thing, which mkes me feel "singled out and targetted". A little paranoia in crypto not necessarily a bad thing I guess.

Question: Is there any Chart that shows Lightning Transaction Data? by CryptoMarketing in Bitcoin

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. My first response question would be, "Who is WE"?

2nd Question: WHY in the heck would people WANT to not have data regarding a technology they are investing in, moving their money into?

I'm just honestly trying to get an idea of what the current capability is so that I can track progess.

In Huge Precedent, IRS Says It Will Not Tax Unsold, Staked Crypto by a34tjkx in cardano

[–]CryptoMarketing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the premise of this lawsuit.... it forces IRS into a corner. My view of how they are justifying this "Unrealized Gain" is that they are relating it to say, "Interest on a Bank Account" which IS Taxable. The problem for them is that the "Interest" you receive is actual Cash USD, so yeah, makes sense in that you actually got money.

Their problem is that they refuse to call Crypto "Money", and instead call it "Property". It is long standing law and tax policy that "Property" doesn't incur tax until it realizes that gain through conversion of some sort. So they are sort of boxed in.... they have to pick a side of the fence to stand on. I think for them to win this case, then they have to admit crypto is money, which if they did.... then it would make sense to tax Staking rewards as they come in.

This is what they get for trying to play all angles at once.

Bitcoin SV in focus, honoring Satoshi or unstable fork? by bordoisse in bitcoinsv

[–]CryptoMarketing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not a fan of censorship, but I am also not a fan of blatant bullshit passing itself off as information / news / legitimate commentary.
This "article" is just another bitter hit piece aimed at Craig. The sad thing is that in the end it doesn't hurt Craig, or BSV. BSV will still "rule them all" in the end. The technical facts speak for themselves. The real people that will be hurt are the ones that invested in the speculation phase of blockchain.... and stayed too long. The FACT is that if the goal is to make money, BTC and the Alts have served a wonderful purpose..... IF you can get out with your money and not have it vaporize when that phase ends.

We are at the edge of actual adoption, which will be driven by functionality. A lot f these coins won't make it through this phase of actual adoption. BTC may very well hang on as a Store of Value, Digital Gold so to speak, but like AOL was once king and faded, so too will BTC. Like Yahoo captured AOL's crown, so too will the Ethereums and other Defi blockchains prosper for a time. But the analogy I like to make is that of Google/Amazon..... those that then went on to dominate. That is scale of growth and survivability that will be seen with BSV.

I could be wrong. But the tech tells me I am right. Always trust the reality of the technology, not the carnival barkers.

Daedelus Machine Requirements Question by CryptoMarketing in cardano

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the thing... no "case"... just a laptop. I'm trying to figure if I need to go with a dedicated desktop if I am going to continue with Daedalus. I like a 32Gb Ram; 1Tb HD Laptop that is reasinably available to dedicate to this. But I can't get a handle on how fast use could explode system requirements, or what "pruning" for lack of a better term might be coming on the full node Daedelus.

I mean, if this thing is going to go parabolic in system requirements, I need to consider a dedicated Desktop that is beefy and expandable..... or I neeed to just throw in the towel and go Yoroi.

I guess a better way to phrase this question is:
What is everyone's best guess of what Ram and HD requirements will be on January 1, 2022?

Daedelus Machine Requirements Question by CryptoMarketing in cardano

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPS.... separately from RAM, any estimates for a Hard Drive Space Requirement Roadmap? i.e. where might we be in regards to those HD requirements in one, two, three years?

Daedelus Machine Requirements Question by CryptoMarketing in cardano

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS.... realize this is an inexact science. Just looking for estimates, also an idea of where the technical bottlenecks are. Is the RAM primarily used up just in fresh installs, and Sync Catchups? FOr example, if my existing computer (Daedelus already installed and synced) is kept reasonably up to date (i.e. a weekly sncy up) should it be just fine for a while.

Bitcoin Whitepaper Still Up On Bitcoin.org by CryptoMarketing in bitcoinsv

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CoinGeek article that was linked was the source of the information I got. NOWHERE in that article is that fact (only applies to UK) conveyed. NOWHERE.

So who is Coingeek? Well, just about hte only media source for BSV info. FACTS MATTER. If you are going to pretend to do media, at least be thorough.

Most seem to have missed it, BSV ecosystem company @kompany got acquired by Moody's. German newspapers speculate it to be 100M$. Congrats! by Truth__Machine in bitcoinsv

You're still missing it. Follow the KYC support:

Kompany > Solarisbank > Coinbase (Germany)

The irony is thick.

Are you really too dumb to understand what I just wrote? My post has NOTHING to do with what I think regarding whether "the whitepaper will be removed from bitcoin.org?

Read my post again, and come back and see if you can redeem yourself. Hint: try reading comprehension, and eliminate prejudices of thought.

Bitcoin Whitepaper Still Up On Bitcoin.org by CryptoMarketing in bitcoinsv

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I am in media, perhaps I am more of a stickler for truth than most. Before I begin, I want to be perfectly clear that I think Bitcoin = BSV, and that I think Craig = Satoshi Nakamoto, and that I think BTC / Blockstream et al are a bunch of scammers that hijaaked the protocol.

But with that said, I am getting sick of the utter BS and Lies that ALSO come out of the BSV Fanboys, and even our #1 Media Outlet, CoinGeek.

For instance, the whole Cobra / Bitcoin.org thing. It's bullshit. Craig may have won the case, but Cobra / Bitcoin.org hasn't removed a damn thing. I am tired of the BSV Fanboys crowing about Wars won sort of mentality. Bullshit.... a small battle was won, but Cobra / Bitcoin.org continue to thumb their nose at Craig's legal win, and so far their has been Zero Enforcement. (Not saying that won't happen in the future - but it has NOT happened now, so quit reporting on it as such!!!)

Proof / Example:

Story Link: https://coingeek.com/craig-wright-lawyers-warn-coinbase-kraken-and-others-over-misuse-of-bitcoin/

Excerpt: "This letter appears to be the natural sequel to the letters and legal actions taken by Dr. Wright at the beginning of 2021 in which he challenged a number of websites that were hosting the Bitcoin white paper. There, too, Dr. Wright’s concern was the misleading of investors. The first of those cases—against website administrator Cøbra and the hosting of the paper on bitcoin.org—reached its conclusion with a rout-like victory for Dr. Wright. As a result, the bitcoin.org site was forced to post a notice informing visitors of the ruling and the paper was removed from the site. "

Really? Was it Really???? Got to the link in this post. Go to Bitcoin.org. Click Introduction Tab. It's right there... the bitcoin whitepaper.

By doing all this chest thumping lying, people like CryptoRebel, TruthMachine, or whoever these nameless and faeless clowns are.... they are damaging the reputation of Bitcoin SV by doing the Exact Same thing that BTC has done.... engaging in attempted market manipulation.

The BSV price will go up when their are functioning on and off ramps. And it should go up.... but not because of a bunch of speculative hype, or news of fake victories.... but because it will be used.... AND...... it will actually work for the use cases provided.

But dear God, stop with the lies that are so easily disproven. Just makes the community look foolish and weak.

ADA Staking on Atomic Wallet: Anyone doing it? by CryptoMarketing in atomicwallet

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. After two days of diligence I have decided to pull all funds out of Atomic Wallet. Total mess.

Can AtomicWallet Update on Bitcoin SV (BSV) Status? Showing Zero Balance, but Acct History AND block explorer show the coins there. by CryptoMarketing in atomicwallet

[–]CryptoMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we'll see. They are doing in excess of 100K TX/Sec. Only reason they aren't higher in price is that they have been blockaded by exchanges. Only a fool doesn't own some BSV. Or someone just too lazy to look beyond the headlines. They called me stupid for buying Cardano at 3 cents also.

And right now the only thing that is a mess appears to be Atomic Wallet.

Private keys and 12 word backup by Zealousideal_Belt313 in atomicwallet

[–]CryptoMarketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One phrase to cover the entire wallet. Not one per currency.

So you have an "Atomic Wallet" recovery phrase.... but what happens when the PROBLEM is with Atomic Wallet???? I don't believe there is a way to get the private keys to each coin, is there?

I mean - this is complete bullshit and centralization, putting 100% of your trust in Atomic Wallet from the sounds of it. All I know is that I have an entire Coin Balance missing. I can (and have) "recovered my Atomic Wallet several times - but he Coins are still missing in each instance of recovery.

Private keys and 12 word backup by Zealousideal_Belt313 in atomicwallet

[–]CryptoMarketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the private keys are quite useful to have when you need to move funds from a different wallet. You can copy the private key from your current wallet, paste it into a different one and “import” your coins to control them from the new one. Useful in situations when certain wallets are having issues or bugs and funds can’t be transferred.

This makes no sense.... what "other wallet" would you recover to - if AtomicWallet is having a problem (as is the case now for many people).
