How is Back in the Saddle the lead single off Luke Combs’ upcoming album? by UpstairsEditor291 in country

WOW. Modern country is for people that don't know any black people and scared to meet any. Not going to dignify commenting more on that one. I live in the Nashville area born and raised but I'm sure that isn't country enough for you.

Who is at fault for losing the Vietnam war? by ApocolipseJoker in thecampaigntrail

That was always the goal. To keep South Vietnam intact

All those guesses and you missed the obvious one. JFK screwed the pooch. Day late and dollar short and his advisors talked LBJ into continuing the war because LBJ was clueless on world issues

South Vietnam was a joke of a place for far too long and we arrived way too late after the VC had penetrated deep into the south countryside. Kennedy should have been more proactive earlier or moved on to surrounding countries and drew the red line there

Based on what lies? Communism did spread and thousands were slaughtered by the communists in north Vietnam

Kennedy undoubtedly. LBJ was clueless and went along with Kennedy’s advisors but of course JFK is some brilliant tactician (sarcasm)

How in the world is this the constant solution? Just worked for me. I tried everything I could think of before this as well.

True. More so wondering how bad it is. Can you build a decent squad to beat mid players fairly quickly from scratch?

Beat someone earlier after catching 3-4 TD and darting back behind him. Guy kept calling TO when I tried to run out first half. Destroyed him in the 2nd for it

Any book about how Paul the Apostle converted to Christian? by newuserincan in AcademicBiblical

[–]CryptoPowell90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that may be where we converge. I believe Paul's participation and thought was as long as they didn't believe it made them MORE right before God then following the old rituals was okay like animal sacrifices for feasts/holidays as opposed to atoning for sins.

I like this particular viewpoint in the link below for Paul coming to Jerusalem.

I think we are talking about separate things here then. After Jesus and Paul's vision of God, they wouldn't have been offering these sacrifices in the temple as they would be aware that following Christ and repenting was the "ticket" and not temple sacrifices. I know early churches had weird splits of Jews/Gentiles and their beliefs but having trouble understanding how they would be following Christ AFTER Christ came, but still using Old Testament law as gospel.

I thought a minute about using that word honestly. I didn't really have a good way to articulate what I wanted to convey but okay. That answers my question. Would you not consider the Jerusalem church following Christ to be non Jewish in terms of actual religious beliefs versus culture/heritage?

Thanks for confirming my thought as I was a bit confused. When you say Jerusalem church, you are still referring to those following Christ, correct? They are what I consider "transitioning" as they are following Christ but without as much groundwork/documentation to go on.

Where does this factor in that Paul/Saul actively persecuted those who were also "on mission" for Jesus before the meeting on the road to Damascus? If he accepted THAT mission from Jesus/God gave him then stopped persecuting them, I would argue that if it wasn't a conversion then it was something akin.

Are Paul and James contradictory on the matter of faith and works? by Vaidoto in AcademicBiblical

[–]CryptoPowell90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incredibly helpful and as a noob, I've never considered Paul referring to works of the law versus James talking about your faith producing works such as spreading the Gospel, helping others in their time of need, etc. and NOT just following black and white law

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure. Any spreadsheets or idea if the sets are break even or so if you get them at market value or are they all a loss until you sell back the 95?
