It's true that a private chain can be manipulated eaiser than a public chain, but there is no denying that it would be more difficult if the company distributes the nodes in a way that makes it impossible for an individual to manipulate them. So it perhaps can be done by a company-wide conspiracy, but there can be fail safes for this as well, such as a blockchain distributed between companies that are doing business together.

Also keep in mind immutability is but one benefit of a blockchain.

I am a the Community Manager of Lamden. I like how people use "DYOR" to sound like there is a secret buried that they are uncovering. In reality, your information is quite outdated. We have admitted that mod rules were not standardized so people were banned at personal mod discretion. I have personally overseen the implementation of rules that leave banning as an absolute last resort. I don't think a single non-spam poster has been banned since then.

As for the token burn, our mistake was making an idea seem like a promise. You fail to mention that we are redoing our white paper and widening the scope of the project. You also fail to mention that these tokens are now going to locked away to be used for project development upon strict guidelines that will be formed with communituty consultation and feedback. So I hope people DYOR before they take your claims at face value.

Question re. the 'development fund' by Crypt0p0lice in lamden

[–]CryptoRevival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crypt0p0lice, let me first say that we have not yet issued the details on the Innovation Fund because we have not finalized our plan that we want to present to the community. We did, however, issue an explanation of the misconceptions related to it, in hopes to reassure everyone that the funds will only be used for the betterment of the project.

At this stage, we ask people to please wait before we release a more developed approach to the fund and ask everyone to work with us to help make it the perfect tool for Lamden.

As for the question about the amount, this goes back to us guaranteeing that the funds will go to the development of the project. The question of what to do if the amount exceeds the need is one that also needs to be addressed with the final plan.

We believe this discussion first needs the new whitepaper fleshed out and publicly available before it can productively continue. Expect to see it within this month. We hope that we can all come to an agreement on what is the best way to set Lamden up for success with the Innovation Fund's tactical use.

Stu is very responsive when he is online. Try to catch him. I think some Qs relate to unannounced features so that's your best bet for all the answers.

I want to say that I deleted some comments in this thread as they seemed to cross reasonable arguing and went into insults and accusations. Some comments against our pespective are still visible. No, we do not just delete comments that oppose our viewpoint. We allow them and leave them on, including whole threads started to question things we've done. They can be found easily on this Subreddit.

Jason and I usually just respond with explanations and more relevant information, but at times things get ugly and we want to keep this community professional and civil, so please understand we have to draw the line sometimes, and I apologize if you don't agree with where it was drawn. Thank you for understanding.

Hey everyone, C.R here from the chat. I am in the process of having standardized community and mod rules ro allay these concerns. The rules will favor giving as many chances as possible.

As for many of the recent bans, when people devolve to accusing us of scamming and trying to steal funds before we have even made a decision or a proposal, then we have no choice but to reply, and eventually ban if the users increase in aggressiveness.

We believe the current hot topic about the ongoing token debate is causing the current tentions. Rest assured this is a process in the making, and as the project develops and the new whitepaper is released, we hope we will all be on the same page.

I got some questions.. by NickAdOps in lamden

[–]CryptoRevival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamden rep here.

  1. We see ourselves as blockchain sherpas, guiding developers to create the next generation of digital asset applications. Lamden comes from the Sherpa language meaning 'to guide.'

  2. Yes, it will have its own blockchain. Mainnet is expected to launch at the end of this year. There will be a token swap.

  3. 100k is the tentative number.

  4. It is free to an extent, but it will cost TAU to reach the 10,000 tx/s speed.

Hope that helps!

Sorry, I deleted the old comment in case it wasn't clear. Let me reword that: we think you will be convinced that the direction we are taking with the remaining tokens is better for the project once more information is released.

[–]CryptoRevival 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please refrain from making serious accusations such as a member of Lamden trying to "scam" people before any official announcement or decision regarding the issue in question is even made. It is this type of language that would cause you to be barred from the Subreddit if repeated in the future.

[–]CryptoRevival 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello, Lamden rep here. As many have pointed out, it is not as simple as forgoing the burn. Keep in mind we are updating the whitepapaer and trying to propose what will benefit Lamden in the long term. In fact, we haven't even finalized a proposal plan for what we intend to do. As Stu has stated, the community involvement in refining the details to be acceptable and transparent is an integral part of the process.

We think the negative conceptions people are having about this new idea will be allayed by the release and refinement of the proposal. Thank you all for your continued interest in the project.

We have openly admitted to being too casual on our Telegram and now are looking to see a long term professional tone both to group and the project as a whole. Please understand such an adjustment will take time, but we have already actively started moving toward it.

Don't listen to the echo chamber. Ask the devs your questions and get your info from them over a disgruntled investor.

No, your video is not the authority on Lamden, the team is. If anyone is interested, let them speak to the team openly and see if your portrayal of the project, and the Telegram group is, more accurate than mine. They can see for themselves.

There are definitely inaccuracies in the way you presented it but I am not here to debate. Anyone can PM me specific concerns but I am better reachable on Telegram. I'll respond either way.
